The beach is at the heart of life in Seabrook. Just beyond town, miles of open shoreline stretch along the Pacific Ocean, inviting everything from morning walks and afternoons flying kites to sunset beach fires, surfing, and long days spent along the Washington Coast.

The stretch of shoreline accessible from Seabrook is part of Mocrocks Beach, extending along the coast from the Copalis River north to the Quinault Indian Reservation. Three walk-on beach accesses within Seabrook make it easy to leave town behind and have your feet in the sand within minutes.

Getting to the Beach

Seabrook has three pedestrian beach accesses located throughout town, including two stairway routes and a stair-free trail through the coastal forest. Each offers a unique journey to the shoreline, from dramatic staircases and sweeping ocean overlooks to wooded trails and winding paths down toward the dunes.

Things to Do at the Beach

A day at the beach can be as active or unhurried as you want it to be. Head out with a surfboard or clam gun, catch the breeze with a kite, take a long walk with nowhere in particular to go, or settle into the sand and see what the tide brings.

Beachcombing

Low tide opens up even more shoreline to explore, making beachcombing a favorite way to wander the coast. Search for shells, driftwood, rocks, and other treasures washed ashore, or simply see what catches your eye along the way.

Surfing

Cold water and Pacific swells make surfing a year-round possibility at Seabrook. A wetsuit and the right cold-water gear are essential, and surfers should always check current weather, tide, and surf conditions before heading into the water.

Razor Clam Digging

Razor clam digging is a longtime Washington Coast tradition, and Seabrook sits directly along Mocrocks, one of Washington’s designated razor clam beaches. When approved digs coincide with low tides, head down to the sand and join clam diggers in search of one of the coast’s most sought-after shellfish.

More Ways to Enjoy the Shore

Catch the coastal breeze while flying a kite, cast a line and go fishing, take a fat-tire bike out on the packed sand, pack a picnic, build a sandcastle, or find a comfortable spot to watch the waves. Some of the best beach days don't need much of a plan at all.

Beach Bonfires

When the sun starts to dip toward the horizon, a beach bonfire is an inviting way to stay on the sand a little longer. Bundle up, bring something to roast, and settle in as daylight fades and the stars begin to appear.

Beach bonfires are permitted when conditions allow and should always be enjoyed responsibly. Keep fires more than 100 feet from vegetation and dunes, limit them to no more than four feet in diameter and four feet high, and completely extinguish your fire before heading home.

Dogs on the Beach

Seabrook is a dog-friendly beach town, and the shoreline is a favorite place for four-legged visitors to explore. Leashes are not required on the beach at Seabrook, leaving room for dashing through the sand, games of fetch, and long walks along the water. Owners should keep dogs under control, clean up after them, and be mindful of wildlife, posted areas, and other beachgoers.

The Pacific Ocean is beautiful, powerful, and much colder than visitors accustomed to warmer coastal destinations may expect. Washington’s ocean water remains cold even on sunny summer days, so a little preparation goes a long way toward enjoying your time along the water.

Give the ocean plenty of respect while you're here. Keep a close eye on children near the surf, never turn your back on the waves, and check current tides, weather, and surf conditions before heading out. Driving on the Beach

Seabrook’s three beach accesses are walk-on only, but vehicles are permitted on designated portions of Washington’s ocean beaches. Nearby drive-on access is available approximately five minutes north of Seabrook at the Analyde Road beach approach and approximately five minutes south at Roosevelt Beach.

When driving on the beach, follow all posted regulations, stay on appropriate hard-packed sand, be aware of changing tides and beach conditions, and remember that Washington’s ocean beaches are shared by pedestrians, wildlife, and other vehicles.

The Beach Through the Seasons

Part of the magic of the beach at Seabrook is how much it changes throughout the year. Familiar stretches of shoreline take on a different character with the shifting weather, tides, light, and pace of each season.

Spring brings longer days made for beach walks and beachcombing, with razor clam digs on approved dates and hidden treasures waiting to be discovered during Seabrook’s Spring Glass Float Find.
