There’s something about gathering around a fire that just feels right on the Washington Coast. Pull up a chair, wrap up in a blanket, toast a few marshmallows, and settle in as the evening cools down. From private fire pits at vacation homes to community gathering spots and bonfires on the beach, there are plenty of ways to enjoy a fireside evening in Seabrook.
Vacation Rental Fire Pits
Many Seabrook vacation rental homes have private fire pits, giving you an easy place to gather at the end of the day. Bring out the blankets, pour something warm to drink, and spend the evening catching up around the fire.
Check the outdoor amenities listed on each vacation home’s description to see if a private fire pit is included with your stay.

Neighborhood Fire Pits
No matter where you stay in Seabrook, chances are there’s a community fire pit nearby. More than 20 fire pits and outdoor fireplaces are tucked throughout town, creating cozy gathering places in many parks and neighborhoods.
Community fire pits are stocked with complimentary firewood, so all you need to bring are the s’mores fixings and good company.

Build a Fire on the Beach
For a classic coastal evening, head down to the beach for a bonfire as the sun sets over the Pacific. Bring blankets, something to roast over the fire, and settle in for an evening surrounded by the cool breeze and sound of the waves.
During the summer months, make it even easier with Seabrook’s Sunset Bonfire Package, which handles supplies and setup so you can simply stroll onto the beach and enjoy.
If you’re building your own beach fire, keep it at least 100 feet from dune grass, limit it to no more than four feet in diameter and four feet high, attend it at all times, and make sure it is completely extinguished before leaving the beach. Always check for current burn restrictions before starting a fire.

Fireside Fun
S’mores may be the classic, but there’s plenty to do around the fire once the marshmallows are gone. Tell stories, play charades or telephone, sing a few campfire songs, or simply lean back and look up at the stars.
On a clear night, turn stargazing into a friendly competition and see who can spot the first satellite, constellation, or shooting star.

Safety First
Before starting any fire, be sure to check current local burn restrictions. Burn bans are most common during the warmer, drier summer months and may temporarily restrict fires in Seabrook and on the beach.
Always follow posted guidelines, attend fires at all times, and fully extinguish your fire when you’re finished. For a safer, cleaner burn, follow best practices for building a clean recreational fire, including using dry firewood and burning only approved materials.
