Why Locals Love Spring At Seabrook

Spring has arrived on the Washington coast! As vibrant shades of the native greenery thrive and warmer temperatures beckon, it’s the perfect time to head to the beach! Take in the scenery and experience everything locals love about Seabrook this time of year. Now is the time to beat the summer rush and explore some new town additions, beautiful beaches and the growing trail network at your leisure, like a local.

The Fun Of Summer Activities With Springtime Crowds

Retreat from the hustle and bustle this spring to Seabrook where it’s an ideal time to take a break and refresh before the arrival of summer and the busy schedules that come with it. With fewer people out and about this time of year, locals find that it’s a great time to openly explore the beach, go shopping, dine out or go on the leisurely Seabrook Spring Food Tour, and more, with less possibility of long waits or lines.

Local and Seabrook Human Resources Manager, Jesse S., shares what he loves about the springtime experience on the coast.

“Yesterday I walked along Elk Creek with my youngest son, Max,” says Jesse. “As we were walking he said, ‘Dad, look at that! The mom and dad eagle are showing their son how to fly!’ I looked up and sure enough, there was a young bald eagle still with his dark feathers drifting on the ocean breeze… and just like Max said… there were two adult eagles flying so close together that their wing tips almost touched, but they were maybe 20-30 feet behind the young eagle. ‘How amazing is that dad?!’ says Max. My thought: All kids learn to fly in Seabrook, even young eagles. Spring is when it happens.”

It’s A Beautiful Time Of Year For Day-Trips

Staying in Seabrook means having all sorts of onsite amenities, from shops and restaurants to an indoor pool and gym and countless outdoor activities all steps away from your home. Not to be overlooked is the central location of Seabrook that makes a day-tripping to iconic coastal sights easily attainable. From spending the day driving north into the gorgeous destinations such as Ruby Beach or the Hoh Rainforest, the cruisy drives are a great way to spend a day.

“While I am not a weather professional, I am a seasoned Seabrooker,” says Emily P., the Seabrook Hospitality Business Manager. “Great spring family activities include bike riding, antler shed hunting in Ocean Shores and Quinault, and going to Lake Wynoochee.”

Go From Remote Work To Beach Town Play In Seconds

There’s nothing better than wrapping up a day of remote work and being exactly where you want to be: on vacation for the rest of the day or heading into a carefree weekend. All rental homes are equipped with WiFi, which makes working at the beach a great option. Many full-time Seabrook residents are remote workers that live the best of beach town life during spring. Midweek stays are especially relaxing and you’ll feel like you have the town to yourself for all of your favorite Seabrook activities where you can enjoy all of the vibrant plant life along the way.

“My favorite thing about spring in Seabrook is seeing all of the native plants and flowers coming to life and adding pops of color throughout all of the community areas and neighborhoods,” says Belinda R., Seabrook Real Estate’s Listing Agent. “I also enjoy when the ocean has a more ‘moody’ look to it when it rains.”

It’s A Dog-Friendly Paradise

Your four-legged family members are sure to love a getaway to Seabrook as much as you do! Rain or shine, bringing your pup along for your coastal getaway is a great way to encourage exercise and outdoor adventures. There’s no shortage of great places to go exploring with your dogs! From walks around town, to the beach, through the trails, and playtime at the fenced-in dog park, it truly is a haven for dogs and their dog lovers in Seabrook.

“The days are longer so I am guaranteed lots of play time with my dog at the park once I get off work,” says Emily.

If It’s Raining, Take The Breather And Truly Relax

Don’t let the rainy days of spring dampen your spirits! There is something magical about rainy days on the coast that bring feelings of calm and rejuvenation to any visit. Beach like a local and make the most of the weather pattern, whatever it may be, during your time in Seabrook. Some favorite rainy-day indoor activities include stopping in for a hot coffee or pastry from Vista Bakeshop, a warm meal from local restaurants, a trip to the bookstore for a new book or puzzle, toys or games from Brooklets Toys, a new, cozy sweater from Magnolias, or a glass of wine from The Stowaway. At home, listen to the soothing sound of the rain and ocean from a hot tub, sitting by a fireplace, or cozied up on a covered deck with a warm beverage and blanket.

“Spring in Seabrook is amazing because the weather is never boring,” says Dawn M., Seabrook homeowner. “You can see it all in one day. When it is sunny, you stay outside until it is not.”
