Everyone needs a little adventure, an escape from everyday life, a chance to add another tale to their life story. In naming our cottage, we chose to recall one of our own favorite stories, BIG FISH, for its celebration of the idea that “life is what you make it”. It seemed a perfect fit because we also love to fish, and our last name just happens to be Fischer. Because this is truly our home away from home, we’ve gone to great lengths to make every detail in the house speak to quality and to ease.

Upon our first visit we were immediately drawn to the Seabrook Community for its quaint neighborhoods, it's quality architecture and most importantly, because it is perfectly situated to take advantage of all the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. Venture out to explore the trails of the Olympic National Park, have a relaxing meal at the Lake Quinault Lodge, hunt for sand dollars on the beach or go fly fishing on a nearby river. Stay closer in and take a bike ride around Seabrook's many colorful, unique neighborhoods, pick up a game of badminton or croquet in the central lawn, take a pottery painting class. And of course, there are those stunning beaches, perfect for a stroll, collecting seashells, running with the dogs, or some good old northwest clam digging.

Whatever your preference, our Big Fish cottage is waiting to provide you with every comfort. After a day of activities, you'll appreciate the Jacuzzi tub, big enough for the entire household. Have a cozy dinner out or cook your own in our fully stocked gourmet kitchen. After dinner, get everyone together for a classic board game, watch a movie on the 42" flat screen TV, or curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book.

And when it`s time to turn in, you're in for another treat. The finest quality pillow top mattresses will guarantee a good nights sleep. The master bedroom surrounds you with luxury, from the silk carpet to the boutique hotel linens on the queen size bed, and the kids will enjoy the bunk over the full bed in the second bedroom.

Travelling with your four legged family members? You'll find food bowls, beach toys, a comfy pillow bed and even some treats to ensure everyone's needs are met.

    We had a very nice time overall and LOVED the town. A couple hiccups here and there with the home and property but the host was incredibly attentive. Our most favorite part was the community pool. It was a fabulous addition to our stay. We definitely would like to come back!

    We absolutely loved the Seabrook community. It’s a very charming, accessible and fun place. Each neighborhood is connected by pathways and wooded hiking trails. I couldn’t even explore all the trails while we were there. The Big fish house was clean and comfortable. I do have to admit the master bed was very hard so if you like a softer bed i recommend traveling with a small topper. The TVs are outdated and don’t have smart functions so we were limited to the 17 or so cable channels and some dvds but we had so much to do we didn’t spend a ton of downtime in front of the tv. The hot tub at the big fish was private and so wonderful. After a long day of hiking and beach play it went a long way to sooth our sore muscles so we could go play some more. We loved it so much there’s been some talk of buying one for home! Seabrook concierge was quick and helpful with everything we needed, overall I would highly recommend visiting the wonderful Seabrook community!!

    Seabrook is a great place for a family vacation. We were not lucky with the weather, but we were able to entertain our toddler. There is a playground, two pools and of course the beach. It would be nice to have more food options but for WA coast, it’s very good. The house was perfect for a family of 4. It was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We especially appreciated the hot tub. It’s also a great location, 5 minutes walk to either pool or restaurants. A little longer to the beach and most paths are not stroller friendly, which was the only downside. The instructions for check in and check out were clear. We will be coming back.

    The house had a "musty" smell of some sort, not sure if there was some sort of water damage at one point but it was very significant when we first walked in so we had to open the window to allow for fresh air to get in which was a bit of a problem because there are no screens on the windows to prevent bugs etc from getting in. Check in was confusing as the notification said the host would meet us at the time of check in which really meant you had to go to the Seabrook office to check in. Hot tub was great, the place was clean and in a convenient, quiet location.

    Overall we had a lovely time. The house is very cute and the property is well laid out. We had a bit of trouble with allergies because of excessive dust. And I will warn for anyone sensitive to mattresses that the ones here were very uncomfortable. They’re the older pillow top style but they’re clearly used and aren’t 100% flat anymore. Not the end of the world, but I would have liked to know that! Location was great and access to all the trails and town was awesome!

    We stayed 2 nights. When we arrived at 5:30 pm, the hot water, fireplace and stove did not work. Called office. The propane tank was empty!!! A new tank was brought over. The fireplace was not fixed until the next afternoon as it needed additional service.We could not figure out the TV. Called the office again. There were no instructions on operating the TV. Needed guidance from them. But it still did not work properly. TV not fixed until next afternoon either.No instructions on garbage, recycle or location of bins. Actually there was a nice page on how to take care of our dog on the property, but nothing else one the property itself.I will say that the office staff, Joe, the night person, was very helpful. James, the service manager, was also very helpful. The property location was great. The house itself was a bit worn.

    We enjoyed our stay in Seabrook but the house was a little lacking. Mainly in the kitchen area...it's listed as gourmet but things clearly haven't been updated in awhile. The salt shaker for example was one big clump of salt. Probably the biggest issue, though, was the lack of a window screen on the "kids" bedroom upstairs. The weather was nice so we had the windows open but there is no screen and it's a long way to the ground. Not the safest thing. Overall a great stay but a few things could stand to be updated and make this an amazing house.
