Meet Our Yoga Instructors
After taking yoga nearly every day for seven years, I decided to complete my teacher training in early 2019. Though my preferred style was Power Vinyasa in a heated room, my class is designed for all ages and levels of Yoga.
Labeled as a Yin Restorative class we begin with breathing, stretching, some core mixed with traditional moves then the latter part of the class focuses on deep stretching with poses held longer than normal to release and stretch deeper connective tissue.
I come to my mat for several reasons, but mainly for mental health and body awareness to increase strength, flexibility, and balance. It is the mental relaxation that is so needed in my life where I am constantly going one hundred miles an hour. Yoga is the healer of my body after years of punishment; through stretching and low-impact relief. Yoga is “me time.”
After practicing yoga for the past twenty years in Bikram studios, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha styles practices I decided to go further and train to help others in what I have experienced. I opened my studio in Pacific Beach this past July. My teaching style is mainly Hatha- physical poses that lead to meditation, along with Vinyasa flow-energetic, synchronizing breath with movements.
The safety of my clients is important, therefore I take into consideration injuries and constraints for each client, offering modifications in asanas (poses) to gain the benefits of yoga. I have both young and 70-year old students, beginners as well as more experienced yogis. I also teach restorative yoga focusing on restoring the mind and body in gentle asana series using blocks, bolsters, and blankets.
