What is there to do, besides long walks on the beach? Let’s dive into an adventure-packed itinerary for a seven-day stay in your favorite Washington beach town. There’s plenty to do for everyone! You and your partner, a group of friends, a family with kiddos, and even your furry friend.

Day 1 

A great day to get acquainted with your cottage and discover all the hidden gems throughout Seabrook! Below is a town map where several small landmarks are marked with bright blue pins and they’re worth taking a walk to check out! This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the town, explore just a bit & find the little quirky things most might not know about! They’re in no particular order, just explore in the direction that works best from your cottage! An old bear den, a HUGE stump converted into a shelter, the Narnia trail & Seabrook’s horse friends. If you’re hungry after exploring the town, head to Koko’s for lunch, but prepare to fall in love! Ask the locals how they feel about Koko’s and they’ll be sure to tell you about their amazing modern Latin cuisine. The freshest ingredients & the most amazing Salvadoran twist on every dish. Great for families or for drinks on the patio with your friends! So, you’re comfortable with your home for the week & your belly is full. Now, the beach is calling! If you have kiddos who are anxious to get their toes (and butts) in the sand, stop at Brooklet’s Toys on your way to the beach. Find kites, beach toys, a snuggly Jelly Cat, some glow in the dark goodies & all the best toys for your littles. Once you have your beach toys, head west and you’ll see the Pacific Glen Promenade (bright green pin on the map.) A large archway welcomes you to the iconic beach access staircase. Spend your afternoon lounging on in the sand, beachcombing, or flying kites.

Day 2

Ready for breakfast? Head a few minutes North on Highway 109, continue straight at the big stop sign and stop in at Ocean Crest Resort. A pacific coast staple since the 1960s with award-winning chefs and incredible ocean views. After breakfast, head back to the cottage and leave your car. It’s time to explore the hidden gnome trail and Seabrook’s Elk Creek. Every kid’s ears perk up at the mention of the Gnome Trail; a hillside village with a curvy trail where you can find many colorful gnome friends in their native homes (find the purple pin on the map.) Once you’ve met all the gnomes, continue down the hill & follow the path through the densely wooded area that opens to Elk Creek. Elk Creek is a place where splashing, exploring, and playing comes naturally(all paths that lead to Elk Creek are marked with a red pin on the map.) When you’re adventured out, head back up the trail towards town and grab some picnic essentials like sandwiches and fresh salads at Front Street Market for the kids. But don’t pass up a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine for the adults! Find your adult treats and drinks at Stowaway Wine Bar. Not sure where to picnic? Just South of Market street, Kucera park is a quiet spot with a great view of Elk Creek (marked with a dark yellow pin on the map.) A short walk from Front Street Market and Stowaway, it’s an easy spot to spend the afternoon. Play at the natural playground, have a game of pickleball, or bring your own yard games. The rest of the day is yours! Relax at your cottage, explore the beach some more or scope out the best fire pit for a cozy night around the fire.

Day 3

Start your morning by stopping in at Vista Bakeshop on Meriweather St. for some pastries and coffee. Enjoy a yummy morning snack on their sidewalk dining area before you hit the road to spend your day at Griffiths Priday State Park. If you’re taking your furry friends with, grab a leash or some doggie snacks from The Salty Dog, right across the street from the bakery! Griffiths Priday State Park is 533 acres of preserved land about 15 minutes South of Seabrook. When you round the corner at the Green Lantern Tavern, pull off the highway & follow the narrow road to the end. Griffiths Priday State Park is the perfect spot to spot a deer, explore the sand as well as the natural grassy vegetation of the Washington coast. Do some of our favorite activities, like: go for a hike on the trail, let your pups (or kids) play in the Copalis River, fly a kite on the beach, do a little fishing or set up some chairs and just enjoy the sunshine. The beach access trail is a bit of a walk but definitely worth it! Just be ready for sandy feet! When you’re ready to eat, hit the road toward Ocean Shores and grab something to eat at Ocean Beach Roasters & Bistro, an American cafe, where the burgers are plenty and breakfast for dinner is a common occurrence. Ocean Beach Roasters has a selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, as well. On your way out, grab a fresh-baked pastry and bring it back to Seabrook with you for an evening snack! If an evening walk interests you, check out horseshoe park and the berry patch, located just north of the Horse Barn in Seabrook (and marked with pink pins). Enjoy the abundance of Edison lights that create just enough warm light for an evening stroll.

Day 4

If you need to fill your belly before you head out to Joe Creek, grab a fresh-made croissant sandwich from Front Street Market. Then head North on highway 109 and turn left at the big stop sign. Follow the signs to “Pacific Beach State Park.” This is arguably the best spot for playing in the sand. If your kids want to get wet but are intimidated by the waves, set up a spot along the shore of Joe Creek and they’ll be happy for hours. With very little current, this shallow creek is an awesome place for kids to get wet, wade in the water and build sandcastles, without worrying about the waves crashing right by you. Sand toys are an absolute MUST here, but so is a Discover pass! If you don’t already have one, you can get one at the You & I market, just up the road from the park entrance, at the corner of Main & 2nd. When you’re ready to head back to town, make a pit stop for pizza at Frontager’s, Seabrook’s gourmet pizza spot. A restaurant where the pizzas and stromboli are baked to perfection in a brick oven, the parmesan comes from Parma, and the beer is brewed right here in the PNW. Eat your Italian dinner on the patio, dine in where you can watch the chefs work their magic or take your pizza back to the cottage for a movie night. If your kiddos aren’t quite ready to wind down, you can pick up an at-home craft kit from The Palette by the Sea, our local art gallery. Located on the Northside of Market Street. Palette by the Sea offers a selection of pre-made craft kits that you can buy and take back to the cottage. Free-style canvas painting, foam slime kits, a kit for painting your own coin bank, paint by number & more! If you want to support local artists and take home some PNW art, this is the place to find the perfect piece for your home.

Day 5 

Before you go anywhere today, stop at Tides by Seabrook & Seabrook Kids, the only places you’ll find Seabrook logo wear. The sister stores sit side by side for easy shopping! Grab some t-shirts for the kids at Seabrook Kids and make sure to grab a couple of the very best hats, a cozy jacket, or an insulated mug at Tides. The best souvenirs are the kind you can wear! Want to make a day of it? Stop by Magnolias, Seabrook’s popular women’s clothing boutique, right across the street! Magnolias owner, Brooke, and her team have a wide range of pieces for every style and price range. Miss their store when you’re not in town? They have an effortless online shopping experience with free shipping. Once you’ve got your Seabrook gear, head South toward Ocean Shores! Damon Point is today’s beach-y hangout destination. A State Park “sand spit” at the South end of Ocean Shores. You’ll find unique shells, an abundance of washed-up logs, herds of deer munching on bright yellow bushes, and lots of other wildlife! Dogs are only allowed in a small portion of the park, so if you want to bring your pups, keep those boundaries in mind. If you’re looking to grab some food before you drive back to Seabrook for the night, stop at Mike’s Seafood on Point Brown Ave. They have a great northwest clam chowder. Mike’s is a nautical-themed restaurant with a chill atmosphere where you can order a steak, a crab cocktail, or a fresh fish dinner. Hang around Ocean Shores for a bit or head back to Seabrook and spend your evening enjoying your favorite parts of town.

Day 6 

Ready to ride bikes, go kayaking or sign up for surf lessons? Buck’s is the spot. Buck’s Bikes (CLOSED) has every kind of outdoor recreation rental you could want; kayaks, fat-tire bikes, mountain bikes, tennis gear, skimboards, you name it. If you have small kids who won’t be able to keep up on their own bike, ask about a pull-behind trailer so the kids can just sit back and enjoy the ride around town. This is also the spot to grab some rackets from Buck’s and head to the Farm District to play a few matches of tennis with friends. There’s something for everyone at Buck’s! If you wanted to try skimboarding or go on a kayak tour through the Ghost Forest, Red Cedar Surf Co. has swimwear for everyone. They have a selection of beach-friendly sandals & lots of rad surf apparel from brands like Sanuk, Billabong, XtraTuf & Prana. If you’re looking to just relax while the rest of the family spends the day adventuring, how about a spa day at Spa Elizabeth? (next to the Stowaway Wine Bar) Spa Elizabeth offers Body Fusion Massages, mineral detox treatments, and facials. If you’re unsure about spa etiquette or wondering which spa service is best for you, check their website for all the info you need before you arrive at your appointment at spaelizabeth.com. There’s something for everyone in Seabrook!  Maybe you want to cook at your cottage tonight… Grab whatever ingredients you need from Front Street Market (& a cookbook from Joie Des Livres, if you need some inspiration) and make dinner at home. Finish the night with a trip to Merriweather St. and grab some sweets or a scoop of ice cream from Sweet Life!

Day 7 

More time exploring the coastline or time at your cottage learning to knit? The choice is yours. Iron Springs is one of the most secluded areas of beach you’ll find. If you use Roosevelt Beach Rd. beach access located south of Seabrook off highway 109, you can drive farther South along the beach (where permitted) and park on the beach just before Iron Springs (see map). Cast a line in Boone Creek, play in the dunes or enjoy a little beachcombing after high tide. Iron Springs is another great place to bring your beach toys and spend the day enjoying the warm, dry sand dunes close to Boone Creek. If you aren’t itching to get back to the beach, head to Merriweather St. and grab some sweets or a scoop of ice cream from Sweet Life! Then stop in at String Theory Yarn & Fiber, located across from Buck’s on Front Street. Grab an at-home knitting kit! Even a knitting beginner can learn how to knit a scarf or beanie with a little help from String Theory! If you’re already an avid knitter, Seabrook’s very own yarn and fiber store has everything you could possibly need while staying on the coast. Want to bring a little bit of the beach back to your house? Stop in at Seaworthy Home, right next to Vista Bakeshop and grab a candle or a fun new decor piece to take home with you. Seaworthy has all the best antiques and decor. Since it’s your last night in Seabrook, revisit one of your favorite local restaurants or cook another quick dinner at the cottage. But one thing’s for sure, you have to end the night making s’mores at one of Seabrook’s fire pits. Go to the closest one to your cottage or scope out one that’s tucked away just the way you like.
