Seabrook Phased Re-opening Plan

In accordance with Safe Start Washington “A Phased Approach to Recovery” communicated by Governor Inslee May 1, 2020, and issued by THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, May 4, 2020, Seabrook is taking the following actions toward the beginning of recovery for Seabrook and its employees, homeowners, merchants, and guests.

Reservation Status (what happens to existing reservations)

All existing reservations (and their durations) are being honored, including reservations in June, July, August, and beyond.

Seabrook Cottage Rentals requires 72 hours between departures and arrivals for May only, after which the requirement is 24 hours.

If any of your current reservations need to be moved or adjusted, then you will be contacted by our Vacation Planners. If you have any questions or concerns, then call (877) 779-9990.

New 7-Day Minimum and Why

Along with honoring all current reservations and durations, our Vacation Planners are accepting future bookings at a 7-night minimum with a 24-hour turnaround between departures and arrivals.

Seabrook is currently implementing the 7-day minimum stay with the phased-plan approach – it can be easily amended at any time as circumstances and guest confidence change. The intent for initially requiring longer bookings is so Cottage Rentals can manage the pace of bookings and staffing, as well as reduce the amount of non-essential travel.

In addition, many Seattle- and eastside-based companies are implementing work-from-home standards throughout the summer months. With Washington schools closed until September at a minimum, Seabrook would like to encourage being “the destination choice” for such family situations. Extended stays might become a travel-norm, for which Seabrook would like to accommodate.

As Town Founder, Casey Roloff, says, “Safety is our first priority and we will make adjustments quickly as we monitor our staffing and new protocols.”

Cleaning Protocols and Procedures

For extra guidance and expertise, Seabrook is partnering with the Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals (VRHP), a subsidiary of the Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA). Cottage Rentals has adopted the expanded recommendations for cleaning vacation rental properties in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. An important aspect of these recommendations is that our precision fogger machines are SANITIZING the homes, not sterilizing.

Sanitizing

For your safety and the safety of our employees, Cottage Rentals is using an effective EPA registered peroxyacetic acid and hydrogen peroxide-based liquid sanitizer and disinfectant. It provides the added security measure of FDA clearance under 40 CFR §180.940.

This product kills the following viruses in 10 minutes on hard, non-porous surfaces: Avian Adenovirus Virus, Avian Infectious Bronchitis Virus, Avian Influenza A (H5N1) Virus, Infectious Laryngotracheitis Virus, Newcastle Disease Virus, Porcine Respiratory & Reproductive Syndrome Virus, Porcine Rotavirus, Pseudorabies Virus, Transmissible Gastroenteritis Virus (TGE), Vesicular Stomatitis Virus.

Atomizing with a Precision Fogger

In addition to this highly effective sanitizer, Seabrook has precision fogger machines. This precision fogger is a chemical atomizer that uses compressed air to draw pre-diluted chemical solution through a twin-line hose and thumb-gun to the fogger body which atomizes the chemical and projects it as small-to-medium size “damp” particles at distances up to 15 feet.

Each home is thoroughly sanitized and atomized, where it goes through our stringent cleaning procedures (AIRBNB), inspected, and then signed off by our well-trained Housekeeping Managers. Finally, the atomizing precision fogger is used one final time following the cleaning process, so it is used twice before each guest arrives.

Amenity Closures

See the current statuses for the following amenities during Seabrook’s Phase 1:

  • Biking and hiking trails are open, but temporarily one-way only to prevent crossings.
  • Beach access, trails, walkways, promenades, etc. are limited to homeowner/guest use only.
  • Public restrooms are open.
  • Gym and pool remain closed.
  • Playground remains closed.

Check-In Adjustments

Walkup check-in: Available outside of the Seabrook Cottage Rentals Office to comply with social distancing guidelines.

Mobile check-in: Please call when you arrive to let us know you are in town so we can make sure your home is ready. If your home is not ready, then please enjoy our common areas and restaurants. We will notify you once your home is ready to issue a hard key or door code. If you need any assistance, call our front desk at (360) 276-0265.

Your home is expected to be ready between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM on your arrival date. Currently, Seabrook is not offering early check-ins or late check-outs. This ensures the proper time for everyone’s safety and the additional cleaning and sanitizing processes.

Upon Departure

Before leaving, please start the dishwasher and take all trash to the outside cans/neighborhood dumpster.

Phased Plan

As with the recovery plan for Washington State and the phased national plan, Seabrook’s phase-plan approach has no set timeline. It is a four-phase plan to normalcy that can easily be shorted or expanded based on the evolving recovery.
