Beachcombing the mooning after a huge storm, we found the two buoys which adorn our wall on the Seabrook beach. Although we have yet to go clamming, we did find a clam shovel which is in the shed, should you be here in clamming season and wish to try your luck. The sunrise from our back deck – phenomenal! A deer came to visit, wandering by through the huckleberries, cedar saplings and ferns out back. WE spotted an eagle perched on a distant snag, too. There is a bit of history in our backyard. Walk along the game trail off our back deck. You will see the remnants of an old logging skid road – a glimpse of the past.

This time, we brought our sons and daughters-in-law. We hope to be back again. WE are moving to Reflections Cottage. There was wind and rain on Saturday, but beautiful sunshine on Sunday morning for clam digging t 7:30 AM. We walked the trails, rain or shine. Mike and Cassandra hunted and hunted for glass balls – no luck. But the adventure was fun. Our sons and daughters had time to enjoy each other’s company, playing games. They built a puzzle, “Clue”. Family time was wonderful. Mike and Cassandra are celebrating their 4th anniversary next week. They enjoyed Seabrook so much. They cancelled their overnight reservations at Four Sisters in Seattle to book three nights in the Eleanor Cottage , number 15 Float Lane. Larry and I still have the rest of our spring vacation to spend in Reflections. I think Nick and April left with dreams of coming back for their own escape. Both couples left here late in the afternoon Sunday. We wondered if they were ever going to leave.

The only thing missing was a large cutting board for clam diggers. It was cloudy but dry. The got three limits of clams. We saw hundreds of clammers. They were all out to have a good time at 6 AM. I used a clam gun with Dad; we made quite a pair. The house is lovely as usual. Thank you for adding outdoor furniture. This will be our third visit since January to the Beachcomber and our fourth visit to Seabrook. Our favorite place to get away.

It was sunny and warm! We walked the beaches (of course), hiked the fabulous trails, had drinks on the deck, did the national park, drove the road around the lake, ate ice cream, went to the Moclips Museum, saw elk, eagles and stellar jays. The details of the house – nice linens, proper cookware, decent cutlery, games. Thank you for trusting and sharing. It is beautiful. We snipped some fresh herbs in the garden next to the market, caught a clam and let it go, talked to the chattering 4-inch wild chipmunk out back. What a wonderful place!

It was Rick’s 5th birthday. The weather was fabulous, warm, and sunny the whole time. We got sunburned! Sharon and I grew up in Hawaii. We have been best friends for over 50 years. She flew out from Colorado for Rick’s birthday. We have the ocean in our soul, so we walked and walked and walked. We came within 50 yards of a bald eagle. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. We ate and ate, drank and drank and laughed and talked.

We are back! This is the fourth visit to Beachcomber. The weather included rain, sun, more rain and more sun. We slept in, doing coffee and puzzles, exploring the beach and trails in between rain drops. We went to Ocean Shores and Pacific Beach. Larry caught a 13-inch Rainbow trout on Duck Lake in Ocean Shores. There were lots of deer and bucks in velvet with one coyote. We barbequed steak on the back deck in the afternoon sun. We had morning coffee on the deck in the Thursday morning sunshine. It was a relaxing visit with no hurries and nor worries.

The weather was rainy the first day and sunny and clear the rest of the time. We shared time with family and took our son to the beach for the first time. We played badminton with each other. Overall, we relaxed and had fun. We might suggest an electric grill with a fire pit in the back.

It was sunny and warm the first day, then over cast and cool after that. We visited the kite festival at Pacific Beach. We flew a kite of our own, which was the first time for the kids, went beachcombing, watched a beautiful sunset over the ocean and biked. We saw crab and jellyfish on the beach. Isabel went tandem biking with Luther. Asher got knocked over by the ocean and did not even cry, but there was sand in his ears. The next time we are bringing our dog! He would love it here!
