Birmingham, AL – Coastal Living magazine announces that its 2010 Ultimate Beach House in Seabrook, Washington will open for public tours beginning July 16, 2010 through October 31, 2010. The house is located in this authentic new beach town on the Washington coastline. Employing a new urbanism concept focusing on community, everything is within a five minute walk and the best land is dedicated to public space.
Tour hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 5PM, and Sundays from 1PM to 5PM. Tickets can be purchased on site for $10 and proceeds will benefit the Seabrook Foundation: Pacific Beach Elementary School. Media is invited to tour the house on July 15 from 4PM to 6PM and attend the grand opening party that follows.
Designed in the Coastal Shingle Style of the Pacific NW, the beach cottage incorporates an internal courtyard complete with outdoor fireplace and room for casual entertaining. The house rests upon an elevated bluff overlooking a wide sandy beach and an oceanfront esplanade which is encircled by regionally-reminiscent National Park Style log-rail fence. The house is approximately 3,000 square feet and will feature a casual, contemporary interior. Some of the home’s highlights are its private spa suite, separate guest cottage, and oceanfront balcony.
“Building our Ultimate Beach House in Seabrook, WA, gave us the chance to showcase a town that embraces high-quality design and environmental conservation,” says Coastal Living Design Editor Steele Marcoux. “With its small-but-smart houses, walk-able town layout, and preserved woodland and beachy surroundings, Seabrook represents the future of stylish and sustainable development on the coast.”
The home’s project team includes developer and builder Seabrook Land Company, home designer Lew Oliver, Landscape Designer Stephen Poulakos, and interior designer Tim Clarke. “The Seabrook family has been a huge fan of Coastal Living since its inception,” says Casey Roloff, CEO and Founder of Seabrook. “For us, the opportunity to share the casual lifestyle of the Pacific NW in a Coastal Living home will offer our growing region the ultimate in beach town living. Anyone who has ever dreamed of living on the beach is going to be amazed when they see this new beach house, the ocean view, and its seamless integration into our growing beach town.”
