Welcome to L’Amour the Mer-ier

Known by our children as “The Octopus House,” L’Amour the Mer-ier is a spacious new 2,340 sq. ft. home in the heart of Seabrook that will comfortably sleep 10 with plenty of elbow room. Ideally located just two doors from the new Town Hall and less than two blocks from the pool and downtown shops, the two decks and two balconies in this luxury home offer plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the fresh air and sounds of the ocean. The third floor balcony offers unparalleled views of the town and has a view of the ocean as well. The property is dog friendly, and offers something for guests of all ages.

Living Room

Cuddle up on one of the cozy couches or the leather recliner next to the gas fireplace with a good book or watch a movie with the family. This room has comfortable plush throws, interesting Pacific Northwest Books, a selection of cookbooks, and a new 46-inch high definition LED screen 3-D television with a Blu-Ray player. The front porch is off of the living room and has comfortable Adirondack chairs with ottomans where you can sit and watch the goings-on in the neighborhood. In the living room (and throughout the house) enjoy photographs of West Coast artists Danny Li and Robb and Dale Johnson.

Dining Room and Kitchen

The dining room table is a reproduction of an early 1900s rustic French bakery table made from beautiful 30-year old reclaimed wood that will extend to seat 10 guests. You’ll enjoy hours of conversation, great meals or family games while seated in colorful Ethan Allen spindle back chairs.

The kitchen has a large granite island with three barstools for easy meal preparation or additional guest seating. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances with a gas stove, Samsung refrigerator with icemaker and filtered water dispenser, and a whisper-quiet Bosch dishwasher. A full set of Sur La Table cookware as well as a wide array of kitchen gadgets will make any meal from a small dinner with friends to a Thanksgiving feast a pleasure to make. Relax to your music with our kitchen sound system. It connects via Bluetooth to most iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

For that early morning stroll on the beach, we offer both a European coffee maker as well as a Keurig K-cup coffee maker. Please brings your own coffee or K-cups, or purchase some at Front Street Market (the Seabrook community market located 2 blocks from our house). For tea and cocoa drinkers, an Insta-hot faucet brings warmth without delay. There is a large pantry to store all of your groceries and supplies.

Travelling with your dog? You’ll find a complete set of dog bowls, toys and a dog bed waiting for Fido at the bottom of the pantry. Pool and beach toys are at the bottom of the pantry too.

Powder Room, Laundry Room, and Secret Kid’s Playroom

There is a powder room just off the kitchen for washing up before a meal. The laundry room has LG front-loading washer and dryer, as well as cubbies that contain luxury kid’s and adult’s oversized pool towels. You’ll find a dog wash kit to clean up your furry fellow traveller after a trip to the beach as well. Just outside the laundry room, there are coat hooks and a bench with cubbies for your shoes, sandals or flip-flops.

Through the door next to the stairs is a world away (well, not too far from Mom and Dad) for your little boy or girl. A small, hidden playroom with age-appropriate toys, rocking chair, and drawing desk provides hours of entertainment while you cook or read your iPad with a cup of coffee a few feet away. In this room it’s okay to write on the walls! Part of the wall is covered with chalkboard paint so the budding artist can create a chalk masterpiece while you relax.

Back Deck

The door off the kitchen leads to the back deck with a comfortable jetted hot tub and a grill. The grill uses new infra-red technology to cook up a Steakhouse-quality meal more quickly and with less mess than either propane or charcoal grills. The side of the house has a dog run and a hot/cold hose bib to wash Fido (or your feet) after a return from the beach.

Second Floor Master Suite

The master bedroom and bath offer a romantic retreat with its own full-length balcony. Sip a glass of wine together while watching the sunset. Don’t worry about drips from above; our third floor balcony is waterproofed. So with the throws provided in the storage bench, you will be cozy and dry. The large bedroom has: a beautiful distressed wood four-poster queen sized bed, a luxurious 4 inch memory foam pillow top mattress, and a full-length mirror. You can enjoy quiet time with 32-inch LED television or relax in the full-sized soaking tub. The five-piece bathroom also has a tiled shower with frameless glass door as well as a heated tile floor – just the thing to warm the feet at the beginning or end of the day! Finally, the suite has a large walk-in closet as well as it’s own linen closet.

Bunk Room

L’Amour the Mer-ier loves kids! The bunk room has four bunks, each with themed bedding (pirate, surfer, shark, dogs) so the kids can take their pick of where they want to sleep. Each bunk has a stuffed animal to cuddle up with at night.

We realize adults may be using this room, so each of the extra-long twins is pillow top, and luxury quality. A large closet and below-bunk storage drawers offer plenty of space.

2nd Floor Bedroom

This bedroom has an Ethan Allen Queen bed with a 4-inch memory foam pillow top mattress. There is a spacious dresser, a large closet, and a 32-inch LED television. This room is quiet, facing away from the town center, and gets lovely morning sunlight.

Full Bathroom

Next to the bunk room and the 2nd floor bedroom is a full bath. There is a tub/shower combination as well as a large linen closet. Another linen closet is in the hallway.

3rd Floor: Media Room, Game Room, and Reading Room and Bathroom

The third floor is one of the jewels of the house. What makes it so unique is the third floor balcony that offers views that few homes in Seabrook can match. From this viewpoint, you have a spectacular view of the celebrations at the town hall, downtown, and the ocean. What a great place to take photographs, watch a sunset, or stargaze with our celestial/terrestrial telescope. The balcony comes directly off of what we call the reading room – an area with a fashionable fainting couch, a large round “cuddle” chair that will fit two, comfortable throws, and shelves with books and a wide variety of board games for guests of all ages.

The game room has a game table that is multi-functional: play foosball, air hockey, mini-pool, Ping-Pong, or play them all in a tournament! The game room also has a magnetic dart game.

Next to the game room is the media room. This space boasts of a new 60-inch high definition Plasma 3-D TV, A Blu-Ray player, an X-Box 360 with Kinect, as well as a selection of Blu-ray movies and X-Box games. Enjoy your movie or game on our luxurious red leather sectional sofa and prop your feet up on the storage ottoman. The sectional pulls out into a comfortable memory foam Queen bed.

For guests sleeping in the media room, the 3rd floor has a fourth bathroom with a tiled shower and a toilet.

Sure, we have free Wi-Fi. In fact, we have really good free Wi-Fi. What makes it so good? Our new Airport Extreme uses simultaneous dual band 802.11ac technology transmitting at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz at the same time. So no matter which band your device uses, it will be connected to the best available band to maximize performance.

With the 802.11ac technology you can reach triple the speeds of most Wi-Fi networks (802.11n based networks). So bring your 802.11a, b, g, or n devices. We’re ready. Plug your USB external hard drive or printer into the Airport Extreme and the files or printer can be shared by anyone over the Wi-Fi network. We can help you get away but still stay connected to your work.

Why L’Amour the Mer-ier?

In French, L’Amour means love, and la Mer is the Sea. Our house name reflects our family’s love of this special place, and the fact that this gracious home is a perfect choice for get-togethers large or small. In fact, the more the merrier! Our house comfortably sleeps 10 but has room on the spacious third floor for additional sleeping space and still plenty of room for a game of Monopoly at the dining room table, foosball in the game area, or quietly reading a book in several different comfortable chairs, sofas, and deck chairs.

What a wonderful place to have a weekend retreat with friends, a family reunion, anniversary, holiday, or stay for a wedding. We have made every attempt to make your visit here relaxing and comfortable. We hope you will love it as much as we do – L’Amour the Mer-ier!

We love Le Amour the Mer-ier.

We love Le Amour the Mer-ier. This was our second year in a row staying there. The house is great. So big and full of fun stuff for the kids. Two things to mention: the master shower is not good. The movable drain is in the middle of the shower right under the flow of water from the rain shower head. You have to stand right under the shower head to get water on you, but that means you also need to stand right on that movable drain. My little one took showers with me each day and she fell twice when that drain moved as she tried to move around in the shower. Its really quite a poor (and dangerous) design. Also, and I remember this from the previous year, the master bedroom carpet smells like a dog expressed his anal glands on it. Right near/behind the door. I am an animal trainer so I (unfortunately!) know too well what that smells like. And the smell can linger in a room and in the carpet for a really long and miserable amount of time. I think the carpet in there really needs to be cleaned.

THe house was beautiful and spacious. It allowed us to relax and enjoy each others company, but had plenty of space so that we could "do our own thing". It was very clean and decorated beautifully. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay.
