11 Days Away From Photo Shoot!

We are now only 11 days away from completing the construction process of the
2010 Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House! As soon as construction is completed on June 21, Coastal Living Magazine will move in the home and perform a photo shoot of the idea house. This photo shoot will be part of the coverage which will likely feature in the October issue of the magazine this year.

The official opening of the Ultimate Beach House for tours and visits is set for July 16! The house will be open until October 31, so mark your calendars for a trip to Seabrook this summer!

With so few days left, a lot of areas of the house are already completed. The painting of all the main walls has been completed, as well as the plumbing and electric work around the house.

Most of the windows that were previously installed have been moved off-site for painting. Last touches of paint around the window frames are performed in the meantime, and will be all done by the time the windows come back next week.

In the kitchen on the main floor, appliances are being put in place. The fridge, dishwasher, and stoves are all in place and complete the look of the kitchen workspace. They may still be in wraps, but we still snapped pictures of them which you can see below. An island will also be featured in the main kitchen – pictures of that will be up next week!

In the basement, the spa room and steam shower are 100% finished, and look quite impressive. The hot tub is also in place and its positioning is spectacular – it looks directly out to the ocean.

The first floor is also seeing major steps forward. Light fixtures are being installed in every room and the washer and dryer have been put in place. Next on the task-list are doorknobs and shower doors, which we’ll have pictures of next week. The deadline for Coastal Living Magazine’s photo shoot of the house is set for June 21, and we are approaching it fast!

Finally, the courtyard that welcomes you from the back entrance welcomed the outdoor deck, kitchen, and barbeque. They are right next to the masonry fireplace under the breezeway.

Enjoy the pictures! We can’t wait for the idea house to be complete so we can show it all off here on the blog!

Outdoor Fireplace Complete, House Is Shaping Up!

Walking through the Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House has had a totally new feeling lately.

The house feels more complete, like it is almost ready to welcome the crowds that will be touring it from July 16 – October 31. Construction is vivid in most places, yet the completed facets of each room take precedence for some reason. Here is an update of the progress straight from the Washington Coast!

The two chimneys for the inside and outside fireplace have been installed and completed. The interior fireplace continues out into a stainless steel chimney that sticks out parallel to the house on the south side. The outdoor masonry fireplace has a beautiful stone finish and sits nicely on top of the breezeway that connects the main house and guest house.

Right below the breezeway, an Azek deck is being put in, which will give the courtyard a more beachy feel. The deck on the front of the house that looks out to the ocean has also been completed, and is waiting for the railing on the edges.

Inside, cabinets supplied by J.Tribble continue to be installed throughout the house and are really adding a new dimension to the open space.

Painters are still working hard and have finished painting the guest house. A sign that said “stay out, wet paint” kept us away from snapping some photos inside the guest house, but will surely have them on the blog next week.

Downstairs, everything is ready for the sauna which arrived today and is going to be installed tomorrow.

We have over 20 pictures for you below, so hope you enjoy the update!
