Summer is in full swing on the sandy Washington coast beaches and Seabrook is buzzing with beachcombers and cruizer cruiser bikes from sunrise to sundown. People from all over have been flocking to the beach to catch a glimpse of the beautiful 2010 Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House since the house opened.
One thing is certain – Coastal Living and Seabrook made sure the official opening of the Ultimate Beach House happened in style. On the night of July 15, right before the idea house welcomed in the crowds out front, an official grand opening party hosted over 100 regional and national guests and media crews for a sneak peak at the beach house and a chance to meet the team behind the project.
In the crowd was Sara Peterson, editor of Coastal Living Magazine, Nicole Hendrick, Coastal Living’s Idea Home Manager, and interior designer Tim Clarke representing the design team behind the gorgeous coastal chic feel of the Ultimate Beach House.
The opening of the idea home was an event marking the beginning of an era for many in the Pacific Northwest. The Ultimate Beach House illustrates the recognition the Washington and Oregon coast beaches receive from internationally renown mediums like Coastal Living Magazine. Such widespread attention proves that the effort invested in building sustainable real estate along our shores is the best way to preserve our coast while allowing people to fully enjoy it. This Coastal Living Magazine Idea House indisputably places the prospering town of Seabrook on the map of prominent beach resorts along the West Coast. If you haven’t had a chance to visit, now is the time!
In the meantime, browse through our pictures from the opening party and preview the Seabrook experience many will enjoy this summer.
We are now only six weeks away from completing the construction process of the Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House!
In just six weeks, interior designer Tim Clarke will have the house ready for him to do his magic decorating the interior. Last week we got a sneak peek of the colors Tim has in mind and the philosophy behind it. Check out the video right here!
As we approach our deadline, the idea house looks like a new house each day. The most prominent change is the exterior color of the house, which is now being painted light gray. The idea was for the color of the house to match the sand that spreads along our Washington coastline beaches.
The first coat of paint is being applied this week, and if the weather permits the second and final coat is planned for next week.
Inside the beach home, the enclosure of the fireplace on the south wall has been completed and looks quite spectacular. The enclosure is huge – came in three different parts weighing over 1000 lbs total – and will be accompanied by matching cabinets on both sides. We’ve got some pictures of the fireplace below, more coming as soon as the cabinets are in place.
Speaking of the cabinets in the idea house, the shipment has arrived and some of them have already been put in place. Our team plans on continuing to work on this project throughout the week as the main area of the first floor is starting to come together.
