The winter storms seem long gone and sunshine has been glazing the Washington Coast for most of February. Under such perfect conditions, the Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House is making very steady progress.

The roofing of the idea house, as previously announced, has begun and is well under way. The garage and guest house have been finished, and so has the breezeway connecting the guest house. The roof of the main house is now the last part to complete, and as soon that is done next week, you will be the first to see it right here on the Ultimate Beach House blog. The whole roof has been a donation from Best Shingle Sales, Inc. from Hoquiam, a local roofing company that has supplied Seabrook with Number One Grade shingles and shakes.

The set up of utilities in the interior of the house is also moving along. Electricians expect to be done and out by Friday, and plumbing is also being completed by the end of the week. In the meantime, a fire sprinkler system is being implemented all throughout the idea house.

The 2010 Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House is moving along faster than a speeding bullet! After completing the framing of the first & second floor in late December, and the garage & guest house in early January, the breezeway roof connecting the main house & guest house has now been finished. You can find framing pictures of the breezeway right below.

The windows for the idea house, supplied by Andersen Windows, have also been delivered to the building site and are being installed. The windows are of the highest quality and are in line with the products used at Seabrook for all beach cottages. “They should be in place by the end of next week” – confirmed Terry Howe, Seabrook’s Construction Project Manager that oversees the on-site construction of this year’s Coastal Living Idea House.

As the workers focused on the back of the house, we managed to sneak inside and snap some pictures of the stunning oceanfront view from the front porch of the Ultimate Beach House. Be sure to browse the absolutely breathtaking views pictured at the end of this post.
