Over this past week, the siding of the 2010 Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House has made significant progress! The East side of the beach home (which is also the back entrance to the house) has been fully completed with siding finished on the guest house and garage. Plenty of pictures from that below.
Only siding on the front of the house and a few patches on the North side are left to finish, which should be done within the next week or so.
In addition, the finishing touches on the outdoor fireplace (located in the courtyard between the main house and guest house) are being worked on and as soon as the fireplace is completed we will have pictures right here on the idea house blog.
Inside the oceanfront home, tiles are being put in the powder room & guest cottage, while trim work around the windows and glass doors continues. Interior doors for the main floor and second floor should be arriving today and their installation will begin first thing next week.
The cedar walls in the spa & sauna room in the basement are also moving along and you can see images of that below.
Hope you enjoy this week’s pictures, let us know what you think of the light-gray color siding of the Ultimate Beach House!

For a second week in a row, the interior of the 2010 Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House is making steady progress!
Insulation, provided by our sponsor Johns Manville, is all but done and should be completed tomorrow. You can see how the interior of the house looks with insulation in the picture updates below.
We also have pictures of the air jet tub and fireplace (by Fireplace Extrordinair). The wooden surround on the fireplace was put in place this week and we were finally able to snap some pictures of the Mirabella air jet tub that is quietly waiting for everything else around it to be finished.
The exterior of the house is seeing some significant improvements as well. The trellis, in-between the guest house and garage, is up and awaiting light fixtures for completion. It really is a great aesthetic touch to the back of the house. Again, pictures of it are right below.
The plan for next week is to begin sheet rocking and continue with the siding of the house. In a couple weeks we are expecting the hardwood floors provided by Armstrong and the tiles in the bathrooms.
Hope you enjoy this week’s picture updates, can’t wait to see how the Idea House is going to look like next week!
