Remember the countertops and cabinets we talked about being installed in the Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House? Well, most of them are in place and we’ve got all the pictures for you!
The vanity countertops you see are silestone countertops of the highest quality. Brizo faucets sit on top of them and give the house a classy, authentic look.
Showers and shower heads have also been put in place in all bathrooms in the idea house. Tile work has been completed as well and tiles from Pacific Tile are now in the bathrooms in the Ultimate Beach House.
On the exterior, Azek decks and railings are popping up in the courtyard and front porch. Pictures of that below as well.
As you can see, landscapers are working in the courtyard and around the house since we are nearing the construction deadline that is set for June 15.
One month later, on July 16, the Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House will be all finished on both the interior and exterior, and will be open for tours through October 30.

If you’ve walked through the Coastal Living Magazine® Idea House lately, you’ve probably come out of it with an astonished look!
For more than a week now, the first floor of the beach house has been decorated with gorgeous-looking pine board walls all around the open area that is the living room and kitchen! You can see in the pictures below that the wooden walls of the main floor look magnificent and really add to the cabin feel of the Ultimate Beach House.
The basement of the house has also seen a lot of progress this week. When designer Lew Oliver initially drew up the floor plans for the idea house, one of the main features in the basement was a spa room with a sauna. This week, cedar boards were put up in the spa room and the sauna seems to be taking shape as well!
The media room, which is also in the basement, is waiting for the wallpapers after the walls were primed last week. Pictures of the media room have also been added to this post.
Probably the most colorful images we have put so far on this Ultimate Beach House blog are the master bedroom bathroom tiles. These reclaimed picturesque tiles are over 100 years old and come from an old house in France – courtesy of this project’s interior designer Tim Clarke. As the construction of the idea house nears completion, the designer team is eager to put their fingerprint on this amazing development out on the Washington coast.
The 2010 Coastal Living Magazine® Idea House really seems to be one for the ages.
