We are now only six weeks away from completing the construction process of the
Coastal Living Magazine Ultimate Beach House!

In just six weeks, interior designer Tim Clarke will have the house ready for him to do his magic decorating the interior. Last week we got a sneak peek of the colors Tim has in mind and the philosophy behind it. Check out the video right here!

As we approach our deadline, the idea house looks like a new house each day. The most prominent change is the exterior color of the house, which is now being painted light gray. The idea was for the color of the house to match the sand that spreads along our Washington coastline beaches.

The first coat of paint is being applied this week, and if the weather permits the second and final coat is planned for next week.

Inside the beach home, the enclosure of the fireplace on the south wall has been completed and looks quite spectacular. The enclosure is huge – came in three different parts weighing over 1000 lbs total – and will be accompanied by matching cabinets on both sides. We’ve got some pictures of the fireplace below, more coming as soon as the cabinets are in place.

Speaking of the cabinets in the idea house, the shipment has arrived and some of them have already been put in place. Our team plans on continuing to work on this project throughout the week as the main area of the first floor is starting to come together.

Last week we hosted Tim Clarke, interior designer of the 2010 Coastal Living Ultimate Beach House and Nicole Hendrick, Coastal Living Idea House manager at Seabrook for a couple days. They spent time touring the Ultimate Beach House, talking it all over with our Seabrook team, and picking colors and other features. We snapped some pics while they were in action on-site, so check them out below!

The idea house in the meantime has seen a lot of progress, all of which you can see right here tomorrow through pictures and videos!

During Tim & Nicole’s visit, the weather was quite bipolar which made our photo snapping even more fun. One minute it was sunny and gorgeous, the next minute it was raining pretty hard. Typical Washington coast Spring weather!

We even caught a rainbow in our last couple pictures, the first rainbow on camera over the Coastal Living Magazine Idea House at Seabrook. Enjoy!
