Winterize Your House and Prepare For Emergencies

November 04, 2010 By: seabrook Category: Owner Events

Seabrook in WinterLa Niña – the buzz word in weather reports across the country – is likely to bring us one of the harshest winters in the last 50 years on the Washington coast.

With that in mind, it is imperative that we have the most updated information to contact you in case of an emergency. Please fill out the Seabrook Homeowners Emergency Contact Form as soon as possible! This will help us to promptly reach you in case of any kind of emergency. Once you fill out the form you can either email it to hoa@seabrookwa.com or print it off and fax it to us at (360) 276-0095.

In preparation for the severity of this year’s winter conditions, Grays Harbor County’s Deputy Director of Emergency Management, Charles Wallace will hold a special meeting for Seabrook homeowners to help you better prepare your home for the winter. The meeting will be held at the Pacific Beach Fire Hall on November 13 at 10am. Apart from learning great information about weather emergencies at Seabrook, this meeting is also a great chance to meet some of your neighbors!

What: Seabrook Homeowners Meeting for Emergency Preparedness
When: November 13, time: 10-11 am
Where: Pacific Beach Fire Hall

What can you do in the meantime? Start off by following some of these initial guidelines:

1)     CHANGE the batteries in your Smoke Detectors, Carbon Monoxide detectors, your AM/FM portable radios and your All Hazard Weather Radios at the same time you move your clocks back 1 hour.  Also, please test the alarm to make sure they work properly.

2)    Check the status of any portable indoor heaters and remember to NEVER refuel indoors. If you use kerosene heaters, remember to leave a window open no less than 1” for ventilation. If you or any family member begins to feel ill or is not acting in a normal manner, LEAVE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY AND CALL 911! Carbon Monoxide is odorless and can cause death!

3)    Check the status of your generators.

4)    Check or begin to assemble your 72 hour supplies in the event of a power outage. You will need non perishable food and water for your family and pets, blankets, bedding, flashlights and the location of the closest shelter in the event you must leave your home.

5)    In the event of severe weather or disaster, remember to check on your neighbors.

The Grays Harbor Department of Emergency Management suggests that all residents visit our website at:

Finally, you can download this Emergency Response Packet that includes additional information in case of a tsunami or other similar weather conditions. The file is quite large so please allow some time for it to download.

Hope you find all this information useful as we prepare for a fierce winter season at the beach. We are looking forward to seeing most of you at the emergency meeting on November 13!

Watch Online Town Meeting Webinar Now

June 04, 2010 By: seabrook Category: Owner Events

Seabrook Homeowners ForumOn Tuesday, June 1, the first Seabrook online town meeting was held in the form of a webinar. Casey Roloff, Seabrook’s founder and president, hosted the webinar and addressed many questions that you as Seabrook homeowners had previously submitted.

Casey went into detail on a lot of different areas: Seabrook’s financial standing, plans for amenities and new phases, as well as the latest marketing and PR efforts. He also gave his projections of Seabrook’s progress in 2010 and beyond.

But maybe one of the most interesting announcements made during the webinar was the introduction of the Homeowners Forum. Many of you have asked us for a place online where you can easily communicate with fellow Seabrook owners and neighbors and get to know each other. We believe this online forum will help you create a more organized community of homeowners at our beach town.

If you weren’t able to join us for the webinar, you can now view a recording of it at the Homeowners Forum. To register for the forum, just go to seabrookwa.com/owners/forum and click on register. After that, you are all set to go and you just need to login with your information.

As always, please let us know if there are any questions or comments. You can either use the comment section below, the homeowners forum, or just shoot us an email at ivo@seabrookwa.com and chrism@seabrookwa.com.

See you at the beach!

WebinarWe are very proud to announce our first ever Seabrook Online Town Meeting!

There are many things we are excited to share with you regarding the progress of our community and the big events Seabrook will be hosting this summer!

We understand not all of you can be at Seabrook at the same time, so we’ve scheduled a town meeting for Tuesday, June 1 using an online webinar format.

Please click here to register for the webinar. The event will be held at 7 pm PST and will be broadcast live by our town founder, Casey Roloff.

We also look forward to hearing directly from you! Many of you have asked for a forum that will allow you to ask questions about Seabrook’s growth and how that affects you. We believe this webinar will be a great way to address that. Please email us a list of your questions to info@seabrookwa.com no later than May 24, and we will compile the questions and answer as many as possible during the webinar.

We hope to see all of you at our first ever Online Town Meeting on June 1st!

Seabrook’s Philanthropy Approach

April 23, 2010 By: seabrook Category: Owner Events

Seabrook PhilanthropyOver the past few years, Seabrook has regularly contributed to charitable events and philanthropic auctions in the area. Your active participation in charity events as Seabrook homeowners has served as an ongoing inspiration for us, and we would like to do anything possible to keep this tradition going.

As the number of homes at Seabrook grows every day, we believe that a more structured philanthropic approach would be extremely useful to both you and Seabrook. Therefore, we would like to present to you our freshly revised charitable donations campaign.

Here is what we have in mind:

  • For every homeowner that would like to donate their home to a charitable auction, Seabrook will contribute 2 hats or 2 t-shirts to your donation package as well as a complimentary housekeeping cleaning service of your beach house after your charitable stay

Have philanthropy ideas already? It is now easier than ever to submit them to us for consideration. Click on the philanthropy tab above and fill out the fields with your details, attach a procurement form if necessary, and we will be sure to respond to your request within a week. Please include all details about the number of attendees, the cost to attend, and, if possible, demographic information of the attendees.

If the charitable event targets a market that we feel is under-served by our marketing strategy, we will consider making a larger contribution to increase awareness in the target market.

If you have any other questions, please comment to this post or email chrism@seabrookwa.com.

We look forward to our mutual contributions to help good causes and spread the word about Seabrook at many charitable donations!

Best regards,

Chris

Webinar on Demand, Home Video Opportunity

April 02, 2010 By: seabrook Category: Owner Events, Seabrook Cottage Rentals

Vacation Rentals Video TourThanks again to those of you who joined us for the Marketing webinar two weeks ago. In case you haven’t noticed, the webinar and an extended version of the PowerPoint presentation are now under the webinars tab in the navigation bar above. Ivo and I will continue to post helpful tips on how to build your home’s brand and maximize revenue in your cottage right here on the homeowner’s blog.

In addition to our recommendation of using Twitter and Facebook to expand the network of individuals familiar with your rental property, a very well received method of solidifying your home’s brand is the creation of a home video. In Focus Media Services has developed a special package for Seabrook homeowners, especially those living remotely, to easily create a video for your rental. Seabrook has successfully worked with In Focus on several video projects to further our brand and web presence. In Focus was extremely professional throughout the whole process and I personally recommend their services to anyone interested in creating a video of their home.

Please visit the Seabrook Homeowner Page on In Focus’ website for more information on the Seabrook package.

Once produced, in addition to uploading your video to several web-based video hosting sites such as Vimeo and YouTube, we will embed the video into your home’s property listing for convenient consumer access (see example here).

If you have any questions on the process, please don’t hesitate to reach us by commenting to this post or by emailing us at ChrisM@seabrookwa.com or Ivo@seabrookwa.com. In Focus is also very prompt at responding to email inquiries, so if you want it straight from the horse’s mouth, drop’em a line.

Best regards,

Chris Murphy
