This is our first family vacation since our son, Nolan, was born over two years ago! This is a home away from home for you thoughtfully anticipated every possible need. After hours of chasing seagulls at the beach, our woofer Lola loved coming back to her cozy bed.

We loved everything about The Roosevelt & will be back!

Thank you x a million! We have really enjoyed staying at The Roosevelt Cabin, at Seabrook, WA. This was a last minute trip for Memorial Day weekend and we are first timers to Seabrook. We drove about 3 hours from Seattle, with our little chihuahua, “Tucker.” The house has been so so cozy. It feels like I am at home and we have been so comfortable. Tonight we had a “night in,” and played a board game and watched a movie over a bottle of wine of course! The owners are so detailed with all the labels and beautiful decor. I love it, and couldn’t ask for anything more. We are off to the beach in the morning for a walk, but can’t wait to escape the City again and come back and visit. Oh… and LOVE THE WI-FI – thanks for that.

P.S. The only thing I’d add is a hot tub in the backyard. :)

Judson, Michael & Tucker of Seattle, WA

The Roosevelt’s Response — Thank you for all the kind words Judson, Michael and Tucker! As for the hot tub suggestion – GUESS WHAT?! We feel the same and we’re working on it. Stay tuned! 2011-06-10

We’re here to plan our wedding this summer and had such an amazing time we decided to stay the night. The perfect place to turn a day’s adventure into a weekend of fun!

And from Mia:

Hi, I am Mia. I’m 7. I’m at a camp-fire. I am having good luck.

We’re two for two this month on the awesome kiddo entries. Here’s 9-year-old Mia:

Mia, Nicola, Nan, Erik & Sasha

The Roosevelt’s Response — Merci, Mia. (We don’t speak French either). We’re glad you had a good time and most definitely hope you visit us again. Josie, our 10 pound wiener dog and The Roosevelt’s official mascot, told me to tell you that she is so very pleased to hear Sasha felt welcome. She personally selects and tests all of our dog items to make sure they are up to snuff for our guests. 2010-05-18

Leona, age 11, in her own words:

Leona & Orion

The Roosevelt’s Response — First of all, Leona, you are AWESOME. So awesome that I could do nothing less than post your guest book entry in all it’s glory. Not that I pick favorites or anything but if I did this just might be my favorite guest book entry EVER.

Second, yes, we ACTUALLY read people’s comments. We do our best to keep making The Roosevelt a better place to stay. We hope you come back. Maybe even MORE than 3 times.

And finally, Leona, I’m really sorry you had to shoulder the burden or writing the lion’s share of this guest book entry, that Orion only helped “sort of.” Being the oldest is a plight I have suffered all my life. I make myself feel better by remembering that because I am older I will always be wiser, smarter and distinctly more fashionable (the benefit of more years of practice getting dressed) than my younger sisters. 2010-05-17

Our visit to Seabrook has been a joy. A time to reconnect with nature and with each other.

The Roosevelt is a lovely-cozy cabin indeed. It suited the four of us perfectly! Myself, my husband Doug, our grandson Tyler and our best friend Sunny Boy (Sunny is a Little Westie – and he found the giant dog bed much to his liking).

Thank you for sharing your special space with us.

P.S. Sat. evening was clear and we did enjoy that special “moon glow.”

Jennie, Doug, Tyler & Sunny Boy

The Roosevelt’s Response — Jennie and crew stayed at The Roosevelt on the weekend of the vernal equinox of 2011 when the moon was the closest it’s been to Earth in 18 years, causing it to appear brighter and larger than normal. Pretty awesome! 2010-05-17

What a gem – both Seabrook and The Roosevelt. You have truly thought of everything and have maximized the space in a tidy and organized way. We (and by we I mean Polo) loved the dog bed, toys, and treats – it truly was a dog-friendly place to stay.

We hope to be back for many more weekend get-aways and love the style and warmth of The Roosevelt. Thank you so much!

P.S. We especially appreciated the nice cookware and knives!

My mom, daughter and I all take a trip once a year for my birthday. I am so glad to say we came here! The weather was very cooperative! The beach was gorgeous! We only saw a few people on the beach when we were down there. All very friendly! The houses are so beautiful here, right out of a painting. We spent all day walking around looking at all the houses – WOW! Along our walk we found a trail that said “Beach.” Very invigorating! (& muddy!) The cabin came stocked with everything that we could think of, or need! Even beach towels, which we didn’t see until we got back from the beach!! Sadly no one built a fire while we were here… none of us were brave enough! My 2 yr. old would have loved a bike ride. Should have brought her bike trailer. So pet-friendly – inspired us to get a dog! Next time it will be with us! Too many good things to list! To be continued on our next trip!

What a sweet, sweet little cabin! Just perfect for a quick getaway! We plan to make this an annual mini-vacay!

Seabrook is so weird and yet so wonderful and attractive! As an architect, I love the end result and the idea of a master plan! Delish! The variation of styles and colors is charming and so Americana. It’s like living in a little fantasy out here – and I’m hooked!

Cute store, cute cabins, cute furnishings, cute bikes, cute everything! Thank you!

Ann & Kris of Seattle, WA

11/28/10

What a great way to spend a couple relaxing family focused days after Thanksgiving. The boys loved sleeping in the loft and we all enjoyed walking on the beach, biking in the community and just plain relaxing. Thanks for sharing.

Bill, Heather, Austin & Carson of Edgewood, WA

9/26/10

After a 6 1/2 hour drive from Vancouver, B.C. we could not have been happier to arrive at such a wonderful, comfortable care-free cabin. Everything was here, ready to go, and clean as a whistle right from the get-go. The weather was great (even the rain) and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves – especially our dog. We will be back as soon as we can.

Jim, Carrie, Colen and Bella

Beautiful cabin equipped with everything you could think of. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay. The beds were comfortable. I wish I would have been able to bring my lab, Ellie. You provide everything for pets. We enjoyed the kite festival in Pacific Beach.

8/28/10

We all really enjoyed staying in The Roosevelt. We mostly liked the loft because we could get away from the parents for a little while. We all had good night sleep because the house is so comfortable. Thanks for letting us stay here!

Brycen, Kaden, Jordyn, Jennifer and Lyle

8/24/10

Thank you so much for a beautiful home away from home! We rented this cottage to celebrate my dad’s life as he has been gone six years now. We had everything we needed for a true vacation.

Just a few suggestions:

  • Screen on the front door & windows to keep bugs out
  • Laundry soap
  • Curtain on upstairs window for in the mornings to block the sun out

We look forward to coming back to Seabrook. Thank you!

Barbara, Jessica, Jeremy, Teresa, Moriah & Poo(dle)

The Roosevelt’s Response — We are looking into screens for the windows as well as the front door. We’ll also take a look at the window in the loft and the possible need for a window covering. Laundry soap is provided by Seabrook Cottage Rentals. 2011-02-17

8/21/10

The five of us had a very pleasant stay! We enjoyed the cottage, and had a lovely time @ the beach. The cottage was comfortable, and we look forward to seeing how the whole community turns out, once construction is done! Thanks!

P.S. We couldn’t get the DVD player to work.

Dave, Beth, Helen, Anna & Naomi of Seattle, WA

The Roosevelt’s Response — The DVD player is now working, however we’ve since upgraded to a Blu-ray player, 5.1 surround sound and an iPod dock. 2011-02-17

8/19/10

We really loved our 3 day stay in this cute li’l cabin! Everything we needed was provided – even what we didn’t think of! Thank you for creating such a perfect “vacation station” where we have only to enjoy our time here. This is definitely the beginning of a great relationship at Seabrook. Each member of the family had a blast & didn’t want to leave! See you again soon!

Neil, Sharon, Micah, Nolan & Puddle of Seattle, WA

8/3/10

We really enjoyed staying in your cozy cabin. We loved the top of the line appliances (especially the combo washer/dryer!), and having everything labeled made finding things as well as cleaning up so easy :) . The cozy dog bed & bedroom loft were fabulous and made staying here extra fun for “all” of our kids! :)

Would we stay here again? You bet! Thanks for allowing us into your home away from home – we had a fabulous time!

Julia, Tony, Abbie, Kierra, Tucker & Tara of Milton, WA

7/5/10

What a wonderful way to spend the fourth of July weekend! The cabin is fabulous and Vegas loved the bed under the ladder! Thank you!

Cute cabin, some sun, we enjoyed the quiet, not really summer yet but maybe soon!

C.M. of Tacoma, WA

6/18/10

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us – we had a wonderful time. We appreciated all the “homey” touches. Our black lab Stryder also appreciated the bed, toys, bowls, and treats. It’s so nice to find a cozy place to getaway that will let us include him. We plan to tell our family and friends about Seabrook and we will definitely be back. Thank you again!

Ryan and Lacey (& Stryder)

6/11/10

We loved out little 3 day odyssey. Explored the coast from here to Forks. High points were razor clams from the Quinalts afresh from the processing plant, the beach museum in Moclips (Kelly the curator is a wonderful curator).

We enjoyed our little cabin, so clean and new, well appointed kitchen. Would have liked better lighting – spot or focus over the sink area so we could cook better. Also need to upgrade the shade over front door & side window. Add a shade to front living room window.

These are minor suggestions as we thought the cabin charming! Know Seabrook will be most successful. We would like to come back one day again. Thanks.

Helen & Cynthia

5/16/10

:) Had a great time! Very cozy & Fun!! This was our 1st getaway for Seabrook but certainly won’t be our last. We enjoyed riding bikes, playing @ the playground, hiking to the beach and roasting marshmallows by the camp fire. Our children 11 & 4 loved the loft. My older daughter & I went horseback riding on Sat. afternoon – great fun. My daughter rode “Princess Pally” and learned ALWAYS bring a jacket to the beach no matter how sunny it looks. Even though we didn’t bring our dog, we were glad for the dog bed to sit while playing board games as the rug was a bit hard.

Fabulous food and great lemonade at the Front Street Cafe. Overall very impressed with entire resort.

Hoping the pool is in by our next visit.

of Olympia, WA

5/14/10

Thank you for the wonderful stay! My wife, our two little ones and I greatly enjoyed our time here. The kids especially liked having the park so close. Overall it was a fun mini-vacation for our family. Thanks again.

Nathan & Julissa, Eva & Benjamin

4/15/10

Thank you for providing such a cozy space for us to relax on vacation! Amazingly – we got one full day of blue sky & sunshine to enjoy the beach :)

Since you asked for suggestions:

  • My 4-year-old would have liked the ladder to be anchored at the top – took a day to convince her it wouldn’t fall :) .
  • I could have used a ladle and a cooling rack – but improvised just fine.
  • Oh, and a dish rack :) .

The colored bandages were appreciated! We look forward to returning!

Katrina, John & Sydney

The Roosevelt’s Response — A soup ladle, cooling rack, dish drainer and drain pan have been added to the kitchen. The ladder to the loft has been secured for safety. 2010-05-01

4/11/10

Thank you for sharing your cozy, warm, wonderful cabin with us. We will carry the memories we made this weekend for a life time and you will be a part of them with the renting of your little cabin. No suggestions – you have furnished the cabin generously with all anyone could think of. It is a cabin. Many thanks again!

Reggie & Kim and Lenny & Jillian and Stewy & Tess

4/9/10

This is our fifth time renting at Seabrook and I must say your little Roosevelt is one of the best stocked for a week’s stay! You have thought of everything – and everything has a well-labeled place. We both commented on your labels and appreciated them.

We had a very relaxing week and enjoyed several long walks on the beach, kite flying, and a leisurely cup of coffee at the Surf House in Pacific Beach.

Our yellow lab, Ely, enjoyed her stay as much as we enjoyed ours. She quickly learned which cupboard held the dog treats, too. We are very glad for you owners who are pet-friendly as we love bringing Ely with us!

Thank you for sharing your beach camp cabin with us.

P.S. We got a kick out of the saying on the pillow.

Neil and Karla and Ely, Tumwater, WA

4/4/10

Happy Easter! Finally! What a treat to find someplace that meets and exceeds the expectations of me and my owner. The bed behind the ladder was so comfortable, yummy treats and plenty of “disposal” stations in the neighborhood. The family and I had every need met with your thoughtfully appointed cabin. Oh! The Easter egg hunt was a blast too. This will likely be the first of many trips to Seabrook where leaving me at home isn’t an option :) . Thank you!

Oscar (Mike, Kim, Jacob & Alex)

4/1/10

We had a great time during our stay here. We came to get away for a couple nights and relax; that’s just what we did. It was slightly inconvenient to have a two year old who needed to sleep in a pack-n-play (crib), only because the loft was too dangerous, but we managed. He LOVED having the park near by! And as a family we also enjoyed playing at the beach!

A couple suggestions, though everything was great:

  • Washcloths for the kitchen
  • Suitcase rack in the closet
  • Sugar packets
  • Small wire whisk
  • Directions on what to do w/ dirty laundry upon departure

We would definitely be interested in renting again (during the summer)!

Kevin, Jackie, Kyle of Cosmopolis, WA

The Roosevelt’s Response — The Roosevelt’s kitchen now stocks dishcloths, bar towels and hand towels and wire whisks in several sizes. A luggage rack has been added in the bedroom closet. We try to keep packets of sugar, coffee creamer, etc. stocked in the cabin – they are also available at the Seabrook Cottage Rentals office. We are considering adding a Pack-n-Play for convenience (just in case the little guys and gals – we have one too – aren’t comfortable in the loft. Plus, who really wants to lug a Pack-n-Play along in the car?). 2010-05-01

3/27/10

It looks to me as if someone had a ton of fun putting this nest together! The only item missing is a soup ladle (but we were able to improvise). Thanks for the great knives!

E.M.

The Roosevelt’s Response — A soup ladle has been added to the kitchen. 2010-05-01

Seabrook is a beautiful and well planned community. I’m sure our family will come again and again. We met the neighbor Ann and her dog Rex :) . The beach is great and clamming was fun. We had Ann over for dinner and she brought a bottle of wine, but we don’t drink so the next people staying can enjoy it! We did not bring our dog, but maybe next time. Thank you for opening your home to us, it is comfortable and lovely.

P.S. Screens on the windows & front door to keep bugs out on warm days.

Cathy, Curt, Curtis and Cherie of Spanaway, WA

The Roosevelt’s Response — We plan to order screens for the windows and the front door. 2010-05-01

3/15/10

We rented the cabin to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was perfect for our 2 dogs and (almost) 3 yr old. All of the little touches made our stay very comfortable. The dogs loved sleeping under the ladder to the loft. I would agree w/ the previous comments on a shade for the door (since it is right in the line of sight of the bathroom!) and coffee filters (something we didn’t think to bring). The Roosevelt is a lovely place to stay and we’d definitely rent again!

P.S. The dogs loved the treats and the dog bed!

Mark, Kim & Damien of Shoreline, WA

The Roosevelt’s Response — Blinds have been hung on both the door window and the front window. A gold (reusable) coffee filter has been added to the coffee supplies. Seabrook Cottage Rentals now supplies disposable coffee filters as well. 2010-03-20

3/6/10

Hello! We may be the first ones to stay here! When we arrived they were working hard on the landscaping and by the time we got settled they had built the fire pit. Thank you for opening your home to us. It was comfortable and felt like a home away from home. We got great weather too!

Two quick suggestions:

  • Blinds/shades for the front window & door – not much privacy.
  • Coffee filters – a very small thing but coffee is great! We didn’t bring any.

Thank you again & I hope everyone who stays here leaves happier!

Chris & Tracie of Bothell, WA
