I never thought I would get to see this place let alone stay here for several days. What an amazing home. Thanks for making this spring break a real getaway full of rest and fun. Thanks for spoiling us with the fantastic food. What an honor to have been here with you. I know many fond memories have and shall be begun here. I loved the hot tub! Thanks for good time!

I can’t believe we have actually come and now are getting ready to go. I was talking to David earlier about how honored I felt for being invited and able to come. It has been very refreshing being here. Thank you for opening our home up to us for a few days. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how it has all come together, the trail, and getting to see the beach. Thank you again. Love you both.
Sarah

3/26/07
Thank you so much for allowing us to celebrate our anniversary here. It has been such a refreshing and restful place. There is something so healing about long walks by the ocean, and having such a wonderful place to return to from those walks, was incredible. Thanks again!
David, Melinda and Rebecca

Your home is beautiful and we all especially loved the kitchen and all the gadgets! Your flair for decorating is cheerful and so comfortable to be in. I am wondering if you are Swedish!? My husband is from Stockholm and we are going there in July. We all would love to come back again and are thinking about the same time next year! Thanks again for the gorgeous accommodations and we wish you many happy times here!
Jenny, Diane

4/6/07
Wow! We love you home. We all walked in and felt so comfortable. Eleven people fit comfortably here. The children loved the cubby beds. We played rock, scissors, paper for dibs on which bed. The community is very gracious and welcoming. We enjoyed the Easter egg hunt. Walking the loop through the woods was great. We have to check out the carved mushrooms and the incredible old growth stumps – very tight. The beach was a blast! We made an awesome sand castle and stayed there for hours. Open the windows at night because you can hear the grogs – wonderful. The group has unanimously agreed that this is a destination worth repeating. Thanks for sharing your home with us. What a treasure! Just a note: we had three generations here for our special weekend. We celebrated birthdays, and our Easter. Lovely house! A getaway outing with all the amenities. We’ll be back.

Dear Kronbachs, what a lovely home! We stayed over the weekend with three generations and had a great time. The beach was perfect for flying kites. The bright colors you have chosen along with all the thoughtful comfy furnishings made us feel instantly at home. We will definitely be back for another stay.

To the Kronbach Family – Our family came from Ephrata and Wercatchee, Washington and Utah to enjoy the 4th of July together. We had a most memorable experience enjoying our tie together. Your home was perfect for us and so very lovely. Thank you for sharing. The kitchen was the highlight where our son, the chef, felt right at home. The beds came in second because they were so comfortable. We did our best to take care of everything because we would love to return. Many thanks again!
Kim and Daubree

7/6/07
Ten years after college, two college roommates and their husbands and small boys came to enjoy Seabrook and the feeling of being roommates once again. The kids especially enjoyed the third floor kids area.

Once Upon a Time, we loved the fabulous home you created for us. It helped us relax and enjoy each other the minute we arrived. Being the snoop that I am, I found the lovely Asian dishes, set the table. We took a picture and never used them! Many great laughs this weekend. Your colors are divine. How much fun you must have had putting this together. The beach that has been there forever was enjoyed by all. We had a fun dinner at Pacific Beach Drive Inn. Turn up the music; eat outside with the convertible tops down. Hope to come soon!
Trent and Lydia, Tony and Margo, Gretchen and Mike

Deaer Kronbach Family, when we arrived here and read this book, how happy we were to see whose home we were staying in. We are from Crossroads Neighborhood Church in Bremerton and of course are familiar with Gatehouse. Thank you for sharing your home. We had perfect weather, lots of s’mores at the fire pit, and many happy memories to take home – all 4 adults and 7 kids!

8/17/07
We have been here 30 minutes and I am so thrilled and impressed that I had to write. Our friends will arrive soon and there is a perfect bed arrangement for all 12 of us (2 boys, 6 girls and 2 mommies and daddies). Ah! There are our friends now and my husband just literally welcomed them home. Even if it rains we are going to delight in our time here.
Anna Marie

8/07
Yes!! We are thrilled our friends found this house to fit both our families! A true Home Sweet Home and refreshing old time community! We began our own scavenger hunt only to find out Seabrook had planned one (with candy and prizes for everyone!). We love the community bikes too! Our first day at the beach was cool and overcast, but that did not stop seven children from running into the water with their clothes on! Oh such squeals of delight! Today we knew better to dress them all in swim suits with clothes over. It is sunny and warm with great goopy sand castle building! We want to return and have a lemonade sale in the cute stand down the street. Outdoor movie too! Blessings to you all!
The Markezich Family

8/08
Dear Dave and Janet, what a joy it has been to share a visit at Seabrook with you. We have prayed about this new step for you and it is wonderful to see the actual place! And especially to be here with you, our dear friends! We wish you all gladness and we know that this will be a sanctuary for many. We hope to come again. Until the next time!
Tom and Betty

8/30/07
Dave and Janet, thanks for the 121/2 hours of beautiful refreshment! It is a gorgeous, well-thought out home with perfect little touches. It is great to finally be here and not just see it in pictures. The beach is beautiful as is the sky. The home makes for a great stay but even more so with wonderful friends and good conversations. It makes for an “I don’t want to leave” stay. But, of course we all knew that would happen. Thank you!

Once again you have opened your home and opened your hearts to bless me (and Lynn and Ron and Pat). The warmth and love in Once Upon A Time is a gift to all who enter, and is accented with color and personal touches that make it an experience of the senses as well as the heart. I love you both and am so thankful for our friendship and the memories we share. Thank you for you love and your generosity. Peace and grace to you and yours.

9/3/07
Dave and Jan, it was great to get to Seabrook again. Sorry that none of the kids made it. It was great to get away from Ballard. The weather was great. The company was wonderful and the food delicious. Too bad you lost to Moclips. There is always next year. Love!
Ron and Pat

10/7/07
The dinner group arrived Friday, greeted by a magnificent home and wonderful weather. A walk on the beach was our first order of business and we were not disappointed. Evening was spent visiting and being giddy over our surroundings. Saturday, we awoke to rain and wind and feeling sorry for the salmon bake organizers. We played games all day and even took a walk in the down pour. The salmon bake was wet and delicious and we enjoyed the storm and friendship. Thanks!

Dave and Janet, thanks so much for inviting us to stay in your wonderful, comfortable, beautifully decorated and well-furnished home. It is so fun to see and experience what you have created, and see the artistic touches of three generations blended so seamlessly. We had a great time at the beach. Erik and Tracy napped together in the cozy bunk, and we made some tasty meals in your chef’s-dream kitchen. Erik’s parents came out to visit for a day (so we could subtly begin tempting them to buy a place here). We had a great sunset down on the beach. I have missed that so much! Thanks again for the hospitality. We hope to come visit sometime when you are here. Enjoy your winter stay here!
Krystine and Erik

10/07
Dear David and Janet, what a beautiful home you have created! Sorry my plans got short-circuited but we will be back!! May this be a place of peace and blessing to all who come through your door. I truly felt loved and pampered. I love you both

Dear Dave and Janet, thank you so much for the delightful experience of staying at Seabrook and especially your place! We looked at 5 or 6 other houses and yours is by far the best floor plan and decorated! I am not sure who had a better time – Barb or us – for her birthday! (I think she did, but it was very special for the rest of us too.) Thank you!
Danielle, Kyle, Kadie and April

11/18/07
Dear David and Janet, this has been a most wonderful weekend! What a surprise to come here and then to find our family here too. A most special birthday surprise! Thank you too! Your home is beautiful. It definitely is a touch of class. You both have put so much of yourselves into this lovely place. I love the family paintings and your grandma’s needle work piece reminded me of your mom, Janet. I really miss Rhoda. We looked at several other homes and yours is the best in our opinion. We walked, biked, and played on the beach. A wonderful time for all of us! We look forward to seeing you this next weekend at the canal. We love you.
Dale and Barb

11/18/07
Dear David and Janet, thank you for making our stay at Seabrook even better. We thoroughly enjoyed your house. It is so much like home and very relaxing. You have thought of everything to make your guests feel comfortable. Mom had a fabulous birthday weekend, and she said several times it would only have been even better if you had been here as well. We will enjoy coming back to see the building progress and enjoy the beach. And of course, see you! Thank you again for your home. We loved it. You both truly are treasures! I love you!

You both are a blessing and I truly count you as par of the family. I will keep you in my prayers and look forward to the next time we can get together! I love you.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. Our children loved your fairy tale beds. My niece pretended that it was her stable. (She loves horses.) We enjoyed walking the beach and finding sand dollars and shells. Thank you so much for the great memories. We will never forget them. We look forward to returning sometime in the future.

Dear Dave and Janet, the minute we walked in, each one of us said, “I could live here!” We are the ten granddaughters of Agatha Wilbe and Abram J. Wilbe, and hail from Southern California, Northern B.C. as far east as Niagara Falls, and many points in between. I appreciate the generosity of you sharing your home and making it so welcoming! Thanks.

Dear Kronbach Family, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home! My family and I truly enjoyed our first family vacation here. I had the opportunity to read several pages from your father’s book, Postcards from Life’s Journey and it was such a blessing. What an incredible legacy. Thank you for taking the time to share your story and to put so many personal elements into your home. I feel like the only thing missing was meeting you guys. Thanks again.
Cristina

This vacation has been a wonderful time of belonging and enjoying being together as a family. Your home is light and cheerful. Al us kids have gotten along so well. We have treated this home as if it were our own. We are grateful that you have shared with us all and grateful for our time together.
Laura

6/10/08
Kronbach Family, hello! This is Marie, Dorene’s middle child’s daughter-in-law. Did that confuse you? Well, anyhow, this was a wonderful place to spend family time. Your home is so vibrant with color and welcoming when you come inside. I love the fact that you have family pictures up so at least we know what you guys look like. One of my favorite things is, knowing Jesus and reading from your dad’s book of postcards was amazing – hearing stories of his life with Jesus was inspiring. My favorite is “His Hero”. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with strangers. In God’s Grace!

7/23/08
Dear Kronbach Family, we have so enjoyed our past four days here. The beach has been delightful and your home has been warm, fun and relaxing. We are friends and family here to relax and play together. Six adults and six kids under seven have had much joy being together. We booked in December to make sure we got the dates we wanted. Clearly this home is in great demand. We have a funny story. Once upon a time a man came to the door and said, “Hello, I’m Dave, and I am the owner and I’m here to take tools out of the garage.” And I paused, looked at him and said, “Well, you’re lucky there is a photo of you inside, otherwise I would have told you, ‘Um, I don’t think so – not on my watch.’” LOL. And so we got to meet Dave, who encouraged us to sign the book. We love the art and the story of the art. We vote to put Jeremy’s artwork over the fireplace. We love the clamshell of shells. The third floor will have us coming back every year. And the kitchen is stocked for making great meals. The chairs on the deck are so fun and words cannot express the appreciation we have for the memories we have made. Great fun, great friends, great memories and a great home!!! Much appreciation and wishing you love and joy.
The King and Toboada

7/27/08
Thank you for sharing your creative, friendly and comfortable home. The four small children (ages 5-3) really enjoyed the third floor. The openness of the kitchen, dining and living area was wonderfully inclusive for our large group. We are from Atlanta, Seattle area and Northern Idaho; a family reuniting for fun at the beach after a year apart. This is such a family-friendly community.

Thank you Janet and David for inviting us to your home here at Seabrook! It has been a time to relax (lower our shoulders), talk, laugh and in a very real way sense the gift of our longtime friendship. What a sweet thing it is to be able to share memories that go back a way long time ago (We are old.). Your home is beautiful and very much you. You treat us like royalty and make us feel welcome. Thanks for sharing your motorbike as well as everything else! We love you guys.

Once Upon a Time is really a cozy place! I am going to get beds in the walls with curtains in my house when I grow up. Thank you so much for sharing it with us, showing us around, making a cozy fire on the beach, hot tubbing, hanging up the hammock (just for us, I’m sure) and wonderful meals in your colorful kitchen!! This place is idyllic, and you are excellent hosts. I look forward to next time! And you better come see us in Norway.

Thank you so much for the use of your Once Upon a time! The upstairs was perfect for the Brady Bunch. (Our son, his wife, their two daughters and two sons!) My dad got sick and we had to call 911. Mom and I went to Aberdeen Hospital and he had to be admitted. What a wonderful staff they have there! Everyone has been so helpful. Thanks again.

Dear David and Janet, what an incredible experience you guys have provided through your gifts. You have made us feel welcomed even though you may have wished we were far away. You have shared generously the beauty of your home and the area that it sits in. The meals were wonderful. But the best was the ministry of the Lord that resides in you. You set the tone and the atmosphere for the work we accomplished this week. I love you r house, your colors, the furnishings. Thanks for extending yourselves to us. We love you guys. Shalom!
Rachel

Dear David and Janet, surrounded by color reflecting God’s light, comfortable soft furnishings – what a delight! Natural surroundings, a walk with a view, what a wonderful week (but the very best part and I mean this with all my heart) to get to know you!
Your new sister, Carol

Dear David and Janet, what a delight this week has been. The synergism of place, palate and people was superb. Thank you so much for your grace-filled hospitality. And thank you for your wonderful efforts at environmental engineering that preceded our arrival. You indeed succeeded in creating community. I can’t wait until next time.
Your Friend and Brother, Reagan

9/16/08
Dear Janet and David, I am really glad I got to see your lovely home here at Seabrook. AS this is my last day in the U.S., it is strange to even imagine that tomorrow night, I will be home in Moss. My stay has been filled with sun shine and warm summer weather. And Tuesday night, when we went to the bluff we had the prettiest sun down. Thank you for our talks, our prayers, our meals (every one special) and hopefully we will meet again.
Your Norwegian Cousin, Gudren

9/08

Dear Dave and Janet, what a blessing it has been to stay in your lovely home on the coast. Living in Colorado, mon, I have greatly missed the ocean. Being here has been such a treat. Your home is so beautifully decorated as well as comfortable. The meals have been amazing. Thank you for your warm hospitality and serving us. You have both worked hard. Love in Christ!

Dave and Janet, thanks so much for having us over! You have a beautiful and warm home. This is by far the best beach house we have been to. You have done a great job with decorating it. We are looking forward to working closely with you on the MK Transition Seminar! This has been a great stay with great friends. It has been great to come here and be able to just relax. Thanks so much.

Thanks for a great getaway for great food, fellowship and rest. This week I have experienced the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. It has been a good time of quiet reflection in a peaceful setting. I thoroughly enjoyed Ruby Beach. It has been good to observe the passion you both have to serve MK’s. Be assured of my prayer support as you raise the necessary funds for your ministry. God is faithful. He will provide. I love you both. Much love!

We have spent September and October here at Once Upon a Time and they were beautiful months. We hosted family and friends and enjoyed marvelous sunny days and gorgeous sunsets. We move to Seattle today after our year of sabbatical at Seabrook – bittersweet but we are happy to be going home after 13 years away (2 in Africa, 1 in Warm Beach, Washington, 9 in California and 1 at Seabrook). To all who come to Once Upon a Time this fall/winter, may your stay here be blessed with joy, hope and peace.
David and Janet

11/23/08
The Castle Family (from Seattle, West Virginia, Germany and Colorado) had a great two-day retreat before Thanksgiving. Once Upon a Time was a great base for treasure hunts, puzzles, tasty meals and tough games of horseshoes. Cheers!

Dear Kronbach Family, Once Upon a Time was just the right place for our family to be this year…Your home gave us special memories to take with us and a time for us to look forward to the future and plan another family trip. We hope to visit again son maybe a summer trip even the short power outage we had during a wind storm offered our children adventure and game time with the kids to pass the time. Your father’s artwork is just beautiful! I love all of it! Your son’s art in the entry is wonderful! Also, have you ever considered printing your father’s book and selling it. It is so very inspiring and so very beautiful with all of his artwork. It would be so wonderful to share with many more individuals. I would love to own a copy.
Ramon

1/7/09
Dear Mr. and Mrs Kronbach, if a place on Earth can be so beautiful, what must heaven be like? Thank you for allowing us a time in your paradise!! May the Lord bless you!
Jean and Lorraine

1/09
We had a wonderful time! Great family gathering! Beautiful home that you are so gracious to share with us! We will come again! Bless you guys! Tyler (5 years) said maybe we could stay here all the time! We said maybe we can come again.
Win, Jeanette and extended family

1/15/09
Janet and Dave, what joy it is to be here to enjoy your beautiful home and to work and pray together with you! We have built some memorable moments together. I will never forget the movie, “The Panama” or that diving movie (what was that called?). You brought laughter and joy into my life for the week and leaving here is not so bad this time because I know that I’ll be coming back again (God willing) in April. I will be thinking about you and praying for you too with much love.
Carlee

1/09
Dear David and Janet, another fabulous week at Once Upon a Time! Working with you is a joy! Watching movies with you is an education. And playing Celebrity with you – what can I say!? Thanks for great additions to my vocabulary! Bless you both for all you are, and all you share.
David and Carol

1/09
Dear David and Janet, this special place – so lovingly planned, and generously provided – and the people who gather here to connect, cogitate, and create, linger in a reserved place in our hearts and memories for really top shelf experiences. We treasure what happens here among us. Thank; you so much for all you bring to the table (both literally and figuratively) and for providing the table too. We are already counting down to the next time the Seabrook Seven get re-collected, refreshed, and refocused here. It’s been sweet and savory in ample doses. Shalom!
Reagan and Rachel

2/16/09
Thank you, David and Janet for sharing your home with us. The playful, homey loving environment was so comforting. God bless you richly. Love in Jesus!
Tim and Diane

2/13/09
Dear Dave and Janet, Pierre, Peter (10) and I were here with 8 others from our church. Four of them stayed in cottage and said it was comfortable but not nearly as cozy and beautiful as your home. We all enjoyed our time here tremendously and benefited from the love and joy you have poured into decorating your home. You and your family have been very present in my thoughts and my prayer as I thanked God for our time here. We want to be intentional about seeking to spend time with you guys in the near future. Your lives have always been a blessing to us; We leave a hug and wishes for rich blessings for all of you. Love! We will return.
Pierre, Mary and Peter

3/3/09
AS we check out from our peaceful and beautiful home away from, I reflect on the gifts this stay has given us – chance for two of our children and spouses and kids (2 this time) to be together for an extended visit in a way that we haven’t had since they left home in St Louis where we raised them before they started finding their way to the Seattle area after college. All four of our two sets of twins now live there and we, having sold our house in Miami, are joining the Seattlites – we hope if we can find a home we can deal with this economy. This trip was planned for us, Pat and me, to let us regather ourselves fragmented by five months of primping and polishing our house for sale and experiencing the emotional upheavals that this endeavor occasioned. And we have given ourselves over to the peaceful view that your house/home worked for us. Thank you.
Ellen

3/27/09
Dear Friends, what a fun weekend here with three generations to celebrate Grandma’s 70th! Fun walking on the beach, finding shells, rocks and even two glass balls!
Ron and Barb; Mark and Krissy, Bob and Kathryn

4/1/09
OMG! I’ve had the best time here. Sophie, Alex, and Sammy kept playing prankster on me and Maddy today. But we got them back good. I’m surprised I’m not a shriveled up prune because I’ve been in the hot tub so much. I’m really going to miss this place when I leave. If I can come back this summer I would be so happy. The only problem is that everyone fights over the princess beds. Well, it’s been fun! With love!
Katie

4/4/09
This whole week has been the best. I do not want to leave. This has been the first time without my parents. The hot tub was great and the princess beds were so fun to sleep in! I can’t leave. I hope we get to come back to Seabrook because it was the best. Anyway, it was fun and the best vacation.
Sophie DeGruen

3/29/09
Wow! What a wonderful relaxing week away! We all really needed a break and your home provided a terrific retreat. The setup was amazing as all the girls, ages 4-13, loved the 3rd floor – other than a few squabbles over who gets the princess kids. The hot tub was such a hit as well. The house absorbed our three families beautifully and we are feeling much better. So nice to get away from the city and life! Thanks for the setup and comfortable retreat. Your home is great and we all had such a nice time. Seabrook is great and we hope to return soon. God bless this home and your family!

It was a wonderful experience to witness part of the process of “Tender Care” being created. It was also great to learn more about what the lives of the Barnabas team member are like! You were all a great encouragement to us and a ton of fun! Also thanks for the fantastic food. Hopefully our paths will cross again. Look us up if you’re ever in Wenatchee.
Brad and Sarah Fitzgerald

5/11/09
Bittersweet time as we enjoyed the last of three working retreats with a group of friends and colleagues – September 8, January and May 09. From here, the Seabrook 7 return to homes in Seattle (us!), California, Michigan, Switzerland (a new location for R&R). We’ve learned so much here together and take away rich memories and a book, Tender Core written here as we carefully tended to one another.
David and Janet

5/18/09
To David, the Awesome Cook and To Janet, my dear friend – the editor: Dude! Loved the fellowship, the fun, the food, the laughter! You exemplified a hospitality that allowed our time at Seabrook to be a restful, joyful one. Thank you for sacrificing of yourselves, so that we could enjoy rest and so that we could focus on our writing. Now when I leave, you can correct this whole journal entry. It is bad ‘English but it is written with much love and thankfulness.

5/19/09
Again, this was an incredible week in one of our very favorite places and with such a delightful group of friends. The memories will linger long after we manage to shed the excess pounds from the scrumptious food we could not say “no” to. Thank you for creating an environment that is warm, welcoming, and restorative to the weary soul. Until next time!
Reagan and Rachel

5/17/09
The date should actually be the 19th but I so enjoyed my birthday blessings on the 17th!. Word of your hospitality has gone before you, so it’s been such a blessing to discover it for myself. Not just the great food (wow), but the warmth, the care, the conversations. Thank you. Thank you. It was a treat too, that I could experience the Seabrook Seven in action. A great way to grow! Love you!
Ron

5/19/09
Once Upon a Time there were seven writers in search of a book, wrapped in sunshine walls and rainbows, warmed by fire and the food of the gods, wondering at God’s grace and surprises of love, joined by eight, nine, ten and eleven (plus one!), learning with books of love in hearts and minds. Forever after! Blessings on you, Dave and Janet!
Carol and David

5/22/09
Dad/husband is getting ready to leave for a navy deployment for 7 months, so we brought the family to Seabrook for a few days away from it all. Thank you for this lovely home. We enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace, and wall forts (beds) so much. We are sad to leave but are grateful for the wonderful time we’ve shared here as a family. Love!
Olivia, R.D., Carson, Morgan

5/22/09
Memories included: sunshine every day, shuffleboard competition, beach combing, eating lunch on the porch, watching movies after dinner, flying kites, cooking yummy food.

A quick unexpected trip to oversee the video shoots for Once Upon a Time! Look for it on the website. Also, check out www.susansargent.com. Click on “Gallery” and then “Janet Seabrook, Washington” to see this house featured on a New England designer’s website and to read more of the story of this house! Once again, hard to leave, knowing we won’t be back until the fall. Enjoy your summer stay at Once Upon a Time!!

What a beautiful place to create memories! We came together to celebrate our father’s 70th birthday with his three children, their spouses and six grandchildren. The children were enamored of the wall beds and their special room. We loved the bright and cheerful colors and special spaces that you have created here, not just a vacation place but a home to stay and play in. Thank you for opening your home up to us and sharing your home! Best wishes!

Thank you for sharing your incredible home with us. Our family had a wonderful time here at Seabrook. You have inspired me to go home and make our own home like what you have here. A beautiful home that is relaxing and a pleasure to be in! Thank you for allowing us into your home to create some wonderful memories!

Once Upon a Time was wonderful for our family of 12 for our last vacation of the year. It couldn’t have been better. Thanks so much. You have done a fabulous job with comfort, beauty, convenience and warmth in mind. We did not need a thing. Hope to return next year again. Blessings!

8/24/09
This was our first visit to Seabrook and Once Upon a time but hopefully only the beginning of many more to come. We came with our four children and my sister’s family and our parents. The main living area is beautiful. The kitchen was more than adequate and felt very cozy. Our kids loved the 3rd floor with the cute beds and space to pray with the cousins. Your home is perfectly located between the park and a short walk to the beach. It worked great for young children. Thanks, also, for all the extra amenities you have added which made it feel like home away from home for our long weekend. Looking forward to returning again next summer! God bless!
Scott, Heather, Erin, Allie, Amy

8/24/09
We are here with my parents, sister and her family (see previous 2 entries). This is our 1st visit to Seabrook and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Once Upon a Time. We are originally from Alaska and also enjoyed Rie Munoz’s work hanging in your home. It is always exciting to see our homeland depicted in artwork. Thank you so much for creating such a warm and welcoming place for families to relax and enjoy each other’s company. This is a fantastic last hurrah for our kids as wee head into the fall. We hope to return many more times. God bless!

8/24/09
Unexpectedly, a cancellation coincided with our availability and here we are. It has been a lovely week – sunny days, warm beach (hot sand) and lovely, cool evenings – just right! We haven’t been here since early June. It is great to see the house across the street completed and two of the beach camp cottages begun. Nick and Jo’s deck is finished and Dana and Jan are working on theirs. And colors! It is open. They have such fun staff. We need to complete our owners’ title tomorrow before we leave. It is always hard to leave. Only made easier, as we will be back in two weeks! Hope you enjoy your stay!
Janet and David

8/30/09
Thank you so much for opening up your home once more. The family had a great time! It was our first family vacation ever. So, it was great to be able to stay at such a magical place. Darlene had a wonderful 6th birthday. I am sure we will be back again! Thank again!

9/4/09
We enjoy our Labor Day weekend here every year. The weather was too rainy for us to do Kelpers celebration, but we filled our time with games, crafts, hot tub (in the rain), the paint bar, bike rides (when the rain let up) and more. Time goes so quickly but is filled with so many fun family memories.

Sweet 16 birthday for our younger daughter and 4 friends! They loved the house, especially the nook beds. What a blessing to have you share your wonderful house with our family and friends. Too bad you couldn’t be here to see them get excited over everything from the colorful dining chairs to the outdoor shower to the polka dot rain boots!! Thank you so much! Blessings!

Thank you very much for opening up your home to our church ladies retreat. This is our 2nd year here and we love your home. Walking through the doors just opens our minds and hearts to what we are going to receive from you home. Brings the creativity out in us coming from the colorful chairs and dishes! The children’s beds bring out the giggly little girls in us! The awesome kitchen and equipment put a little oomph in our meals! Most of all, the stillness, the quietness, the beauty of the home make the time just a little more special! Thank you for sharing your hard work, your dream, your home with us! Blessings!

Hello! Eight of us came to your fantastic home for a weekend of scrap booking and general girliness! Your home took our breath away. Two of us are avid Tiestaware fans so you can imagine our delight in opening the cupboard doors to discover such color! The boots and slippers are so thoughtful and were both employed. Perhaps the highlight was conducting a symphony in the hot tub! The red wine goblets make a delightful sound when you run you finger around the edge! Thank you so much for sharing this retreat with the world. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home.

What a wonderful place to gather with family whom we have been missing so much and our cousins playing happily and having slumber parties around your charming nook beds. What a delightful colorful place of beauty you have created! My favorite surprise is seeing the chronicle of how many of God’s people have entered these doors. Blessings!

Dear Dave and Janet, I really know I’m in rest/relax mode when makeup is not involved – success!! Thank you for your thoughts and efforts on our behalf. What a spectacular gift God has entered you with. I see your hearts to bless others in like kind. Paul and I were touched by your offer to extend our stay and come to Seabrook. The invitation held so much more than I could have imagined and I imagined a lot! Beauty in setting, color, comfort, connection, palate, persons – held together in the beauty of His Person. Will enjoy picturing you here and in you city loft! Love!

11/16/09
Dave and Janet, what a wonderful time you have shown us! Picking us up at midnight, touring us through Seattle, groceries, cooking and the list goes on. Thank you seems a bit trivial but we are grateful for the respite. It was good seeing a little of your world, hearing your hearts and tasting your dreams and tasting your food! Fantastic! Thumbing through the book I see the word, Servant, several times. That fits you. Thanks for serving us and for simple hanging out! God’s blessing on you and your family! Love you guys.
Paul

11/25/09
A great place to do great gobs of nothing! I love the vibrancy of the colorful décor! Great food, fun and fellowship! I won the only three games of dominoes. Thanks for letting me share your home in such a beautiful setting in spite of the fog, mist, drizzle, downpour rain! Love you guys so much! Much love!

We were here twice this month – mid month with friends from Florida and just prior to Thanksgiving with Mom, visiting from Pennsylvania. WE enjoyed a beautiful, starry night on arrival this time and another beautiful moon last evening with a blustery storm in between. In any weather, we love curling up by this fire with a good book. Happy Holidays to everyone!

Loved your warm charming home. Comfortably slept everyone and our four girls loved the “princess” beds on the third floor. What a great house! Thanks for opening it to us. We had a blast decorating it for the “Illuminations” contest for the Fourth of July with your big wrap-around porch. We will definately be back. Best family vacation ever!
