Artist Nathan DiPietro Finds Inspiration At Seabrook

March 15, 2011 By: Seabrook Category: Events, New Urbanism

Nathan DiPietro Seabrook PaintingNationally acclaimed Seattle artist, Nathan DiPietro, will have the great honor of displaying his latest works of art at the prestigious Woodside/Braseth Gallery in Seattle through April 22. His art pieces will be rather unique, however. They will be dominated by a seamless synthesis of nature and real estate, of civilization and wilderness, of the coast and life beside it. Yes, you’ve guessed right, our very own Seabrook is Nathan DiPietro’s main topic of inspiration for his latest art showing and his paintings look absolutely amazing!

“I was drawn to Seabrook because it’s the physical edge of the newest wave of civilization, creeping up the coast towards the northwest tip of America. The architecture evokes the beach communities of Nantucket and incorporates craftsman and bungalow accents. Oyster shells line the paths. The cedar shingles on the houses come from the mill two miles north, in dilapidated Moclips. Fire pits and shuffleboard edge the park. The town’s grocery and restaurant complete the package, providing all the comforts of urban living. It’s the border where wilderness becomes Seabrook that I find to be most interesting.” – Nathan DiPietro

The official grand opening of DiPietro’s display called “New Northwest Coast: Investigating Seabrook Washington” will be held this Thursday, March 18, starting at 5:30pm. Please join members of our Seabrook Team and other distinguished artists and guests for this reception.

The Woodside/Braseth Gallery is located on 9th Avenue in downtown Seattle.

Family Field Day Pictures Are In!

Seabrook Family Field Day
At the end of June, all the families at Seabrook came out to enjoy a fun day at Crescent Park full of games and laughter. Little kids were zipping by finishing gunny-sack relays in record times while their parents struggled to keep up with the pace. Some played ping-pong, others attempted badminton, and some just enjoyed the sunshine. But it wasn’t until tug of war came around when the adults showed off their true strength in pulling, slipping, growling, funny-face-making, and everything else you can imagine happening at such a face-off.

The best part is that we have it all on camera. An exclusive, all-encompassing slideshow is at your fingertips with the click of a mouse. And there is always something fun to do at Seabrook. Seabrook Family Field Day/ This last weekend the third annual Fun Run took place and the weather could not have been more perfect! For more on how the run went and who the winners were, check back later this week as we will have it all right here at the Seabrook Blog.

We upload all the pictures on our flickr website so stop by anytime and throw a glance at what is happening at Seabrook. If you were lucky enough to be out on the coast, maybe you will be in one of the photos. This weekend we are making beachy arts and crafts at the park. Next week the glorious children’s bike parade will rule our beach town. Until then, however, browse our sets and galleries for the best out of Seabrook!

Seabrook Is Getting Colorful

July 29, 2009 By: Seabrook Category: Colours, Events

Seabrook Woman's World Contest
All the different colored houses and the beautiful scenery out at Seabrook have always made the town look vibrant and colorful. This weekend, however, the word colorful will be getting a whole new meaning! On Saturday, August 1st, a new business will open its doors to homeowners and visitors of all ages to spark their creativity and provide incredible amounts of fun for everyone!

Colours, a brand new pottery painting studio will start its first day of operation during the weekend, joining Front Street Cafe and Lil’s Pantry in the line of businesses that uniquely add to the Seabrook experience. The studio will have all sorts of unfinished pottery in their selection for you to choose and lots of different colors and friendly advice to help you decorate your dish according to your taste!

After you do your magic, Colours will fire and finish the piece for you so you can enjoy your creation. If you already know you will be in Seabrook, we encourage you to call Colours ahead and let them know what all you wish they have on opening day. That way you will be certain to design your favorite pottery piece! Their number is (360) 276-4321.

As Seabrook grows in size and stature, it is places like these that will enhance your experience and brighten up your day. It may even serve as a place for your kids to employ their creative sides! Nonetheless, we are certain you will enjoy this addition and go home with a new favorite dish or bowl from Seabrook.
