Despite the fact that everyone here at Seabrook is still savoring this past Saturday’s Second Annual Seafood and Wine Festival, we are already looking forward to another incredible weekend at the coast! This Saturday, May 12 join us in celebrating Arts Day at Seabrook!

Presented by the Artists Trust, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Washington State artists that enrich our community, Arts Day at Seabrook will not only be a celebration of local artists working in all disciplines, but also the organization’s 25th Anniversary.

The celebration is free, though if you believe that art is an essential element in our lives as we do, we hope you will make a donation to the Artist Trust to support career training programs for artists in the Grays Harbor community. You can make a donation online today at the Artist Trust website or donate at the event!

Seabrook’s town merchant Colours Pottery Painting Studio will be offering a special “Daddy and Me” opportunity to paint a Mother’s Day gift and our very own Lil’s Pantry will tempt those culinary-inspired individuals to use their artistic talents to decorate a cookies. There will also be demonstrations and exhibits by professional artists Judith Altruda (fine jewelry), Johnny and Darlene Camp (glass art), and Nathan DiPietro (painter) between noon and 4pm in the Seabrook Retail District.

After the Art walk, there will be a special Artist Reception with Nathan DiPietro and designer Jeff Lehman at Seabrook’s Boat House. This will be an exceptional opportunity to discuss these two talented artists’ creative process and artistic vision while you enjoy some light refreshments.

Finally, for anyone musically-inclined, a Drumming Circle will also be congregating at the Blue Spa yurt, just above the Seabrook Oceanfront Promenade overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Please bring your own drum to this gathering and conclude your day at the beach with a view of the ocean and the unique rhythm of the drums.

Nationally acclaimed Seattle artist, Nathan DiPietro, will have the great honor of displaying his latest works of art at the prestigious Woodside/Braseth Gallery in Seattle through April 22. His art pieces will be rather unique, however. They will be dominated by a seamless synthesis of nature and real estate, of civilization and wilderness, of the coast and life beside it. Yes, you’ve guessed right, our very own Seabrook is Nathan DiPietro’s main topic of inspiration for his latest art showing and his paintings look absolutely amazing!

“I was drawn to Seabrook because it’s the physical edge of the newest wave of civilization, creeping up the coast towards the northwest tip of America. The architecture evokes the beach communities of Nantucket and incorporates craftsman and bungalow accents. Oyster shells line the paths. The cedar shingles on the houses come from the mill two miles north, in dilapidated Moclips. Fire pits and shuffleboard edge the park. The town’s grocery and restaurant complete the package, providing all the comforts of urban living. It’s the border where wilderness becomes Seabrook that I find to be most interesting.” – Nathan DiPietro

The official grand opening of DiPietro’s display called “New Northwest Coast: Investigating Seabrook Washington” will be held this Thursday, March 18, starting at 5:30pm. Please join members of our Seabrook Team and other distinguished artists and guests for this reception.
