Seabrook Dog Button

SuperButton!

If you follow Seabrook on Twitter or Facebook, you may have heard about Button, a now-famous little wiener dog.

This cute 1-year-old, red and black long-haired dachshund went missing on Saturday, October 22 while enjoying a nighttime walk through the streets of Seabrook.  After darting into the darkness for an after-hours romp, Button quickly disappeared into the night.  Soon, with no sign of the little doxie, people began pouring out onto the streets and trails of Seabrook to search for Button late into the evening.

By the next morning, Button was still nowhere to be seen and droves of homeowners, guests, and Seabrook employees joined in the search for him.  The Button search party took every measure possible. Acres of terrain were traversed, posters went up all through the area, fliers were handed out to everyone in sight, Button’s story was shared on a variety of social media websites, and phone calls were made to local animal rescue organizations. Sadly though, at day’s end on Sunday there was still no sign of the little dog.

5th Annual Doggie Days Review & Pictures!

June 23, 2011 By: Seabrook Category: Contests, Events, Pictures, Salty Dog

Doggie Days 2011This month, Seabrook celebrated its 5th Annual Doggie Days event! The long-anticipated day of canine merriment proved to once again be one of the most enjoyable events held at Seabrook! Hosted for the second year in a row by Ann Kjelsberg, owner of The Salty Dog here at Seabrook, Doggie Days showed off just how dog-friendly our beach town can be!

With every size, shape, and breed of dog you can imagine, the “Bark in the Park” festivities of Doggie Days were especially fun this year. With numerous games, contests, and prizes given to dogs with unique talents such as “Best Kisser”, “Best Trick”, and “Best Barker”, everyone had an opportunity to participate. Also, special thanks to Seabrook homeowner and professional photographer Morgan of Morgan J. Miller Photography who provided a whimsical beach back-drop for both doggie and people portraits during the event.

The weather was perfect and ALL of the proceeds from the event benefited the North Beach PAWS animal shelter in Ocean Shores.

If you didn’t have a chance to join us last weekend, we hope you will enjoy the slideshow below of the festivities. A big thanks to everyone who came out, it was great meeting so many adorable pups on the park!

Seabrook Doggie Days ShowFor the 4th year in a row, Seabrook’s Doggie Days proved to be one of the most enjoyable events held at Seabrook. Over 50 dog owners showed up with their pups for a day of fun and games on Crescent Park and had a great time.

This year’s Doggie Days was organized by one of our homeowners, Ann Kjelsberg, who is opening a doggie shop at Seabrook over the summer. Doggies from all different breeds and sizes took part in shows, games, contests, and won prizes in many categories including – smartest dog, best trained dog, fastest eating dog, etc.

The weather could not have been more perfect as a bunch of well-dressed pouches ruled over Seabrook all weekend. This year’s record attendance was a great preview for “Salty Dog”, the new Seabrook doggie gift shop that will be opening its doors very soon.

Seabrook Dog Parade Through The Lens

July 21, 2009 By: Seabrook Category: Events, Pictures

Seabrook Woman's World Contest
Last weekend Seabrook hosted Doggie Days – a fun event mingling dogs and their owners for a leisurely parade around town. Over 25 adorable dogs of all breeds and sizes gathered at Crescent Park dressed in the latest (dog) fashion to kick off a fun day of picture taking, parading, and playing fetch.

And while all the dogs looked spectacular, one lucky puppy was chosen a winner and took home a 5″x7″ profesionally taken picture under the Crescent Park tent. Sadie, a black lab from Seattle, was crowned the day’s champion much to her owner’s pleasure, Becky McAuley.

Professional photographer Morgan Miller did the honors and took pictures not just of Sadie, but of all the other dogs present to enjoy a wonderful weekend at Seabrook. For more pictures of the event, we have created a special slideshow for your pleasure. Doggie Days ParadeJust click on this link and re-live Seabrook’s Doggie Days Parade through the lens!
