Seabrook Dog Parade Through The Lens

Seabrook Woman's World Contest
Last weekend Seabrook hosted Doggie Days – a fun event mingling dogs and their owners for a leisurely parade around town. Over 25 adorable dogs of all breeds and sizes gathered at Crescent Park dressed in the latest (dog) fashion to kick off a fun day of picture taking, parading, and playing fetch.

And while all the dogs looked spectacular, one lucky puppy was chosen a winner and took home a 5″x7″ profesionally taken picture under the Crescent Park tent. Sadie, a black lab from Seattle, was crowned the day’s champion much to her owner’s pleasure, Becky McAuley.

Professional photographer Morgan Miller did the honors and took pictures not just of Sadie, but of all the other dogs present to enjoy a wonderful weekend at Seabrook. For more pictures of the event, we have created a special slideshow for your pleasure. Doggie Days ParadeJust click on this link and re-live Seabrook’s Doggie Days Parade through the lens!

But don’t kick yourself if you missed out on this fun family gathering. We have another great family event planned just for you this next weekend! On Saturday, July 25th Seabrook is holding a Family Field Day – a fun day of food and games. Park Construction Continues

April 30, 2008 By: Seabrook Category: Pictures

With the intent of increasing drainage from the lawn at Crescent Park, the Seabrook Landscaping crew initiated construction on April 7th, 2008. After significant measures were taken, including re-grading the soil (shown in picture two and three), hydroseed was applied Wednesday, April 23rd.

“Hydroseeding,” according to AllAboutLawns.com, “is a process by which seed, water, fertilizer, fiber mulch, and sometimes lime are blended together in a tank and applied onto a prepared lawn area through a spraying hose. Once sprayed, the wet fiber mulch will help create a bond to the soil and provide the seeds with a water retaining blanketing-coat while protecting it from sunlight, wind, and erosion. As the grass seeds begin to germinate, the fiber mulch will slowly decompose adding nutrients to the soil.”

Additionally, Greg ‘Woo’ Haskins, Director of Seabrook Landscaping, said, “Although the lawn will not be ready for use for another 4-6 weeks (weather depending), we should see a blanket of green appearing over the next couple of days.” Haskins continued by explaining, “The process has been very smooth and we have not been confronted with an obstacle we couldn’t conquer.” He concluded the interview with, “I am confident we have accomplished exactly what we set out to do.”

Great work Seabrook Landscaping and thanks for making our park an even better place to play!
