Arts Day at Seabrook Over Mother’s Day Weekend

May 08, 2012 By: Seabrook Category: Events

Despite the fact that everyone here at Seabrook is still savoring this past Saturday’s Second Annual Seafood and Wine Festival, we are already looking forward to another incredible weekend at the coast! This Saturday, May 12 join us in celebrating Arts Day at Seabrook!

Presented by the Artists Trust, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting Washington State artists that enrich our community, Arts Day at Seabrook will not only be a celebration of local artists working in all disciplines, but also the organization’s 25th Anniversary.

The celebration is free, though if you believe that art is an essential element in our lives as we do, we hope you will make a donation to the Artist Trust to support career training programs for artists in the Grays Harbor community. You can make a donation online today at the Artist Trust website or donate at the event!

Washington Coast Seabrook Art Walk

Seabrook’s town merchant Colours Pottery Painting Studio will be offering a special “Daddy and Me” opportunity to paint a Mother’s Day gift and our very own Lil’s Pantry will tempt those culinary-inspired individuals to use their artistic talents to decorate a cookies. There will also be demonstrations and exhibits by professional artists Judith Altruda (fine jewelry), Johnny and Darlene Camp (glass art), and Nathan DiPietro (painter) between noon and 4pm in the Seabrook Retail District.

After the Art walk, there will be a special Artist Reception with Nathan DiPietro and designer Jeff Lehman at Seabrook’s Boat House. Be sure to RSVP for this event by contacting Sheila Siden at: sheila@artisttrust.org. This will be an exceptional opportunity to discuss these two talented artists’ creative process and artistic vision while you enjoy some light refreshments.

Finally, for anyone musically-inclined, a Drumming Circle will also be congregating at the Blue Spa yurt, just above the Seabrook Oceanfront Promenade overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Please bring your own drum to this gathering and conclude your day at the beach with a view of the ocean and the unique rhythm of the drums.

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather and if you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Sheila Siden at: sheila@artisttrust.org or 206.467.8734, Ext.17

Ballet & Arts at Seabrook

February 09, 2010 By: Seabrook Category: Events, Lil's Pantry, Pictures

Seabrook BalletThe beautiful Washington Coast is an inspiration to many in the Pacific Northwest. While some are inspired to capture nature’s beauty through the camera lens, others try and recreate it on a blank canvas. Luis Mestas, the founder of Lighthouse Ballet Academy here in North Beach, has recently sparked a unique interest in ballet among the locals at Seabrook and Pacific Beach. So many kids enjoyed the ballet lessons that he is now holding a weekly ballet class at Pacific Beach Elementary!

Luis Mestas’ bio includes a masters degrees in education and teaching experience in the Los Angeles school system. He has studied in Russia, Latvia, and Estonia, and has performed with the Pasadena Dance Theater, the Asian American, Ballet company, and Marat Daukayev School of Ballet in LA. He is also a good friend of Arthur Egeli, a nationally recognized artist that moved to Seabrook recently.

Arthur Egeli Lil's PantryArthur is, in fact, working on an art piece of his own at the moment. He is in the process of completing his second mural – both will be hanging beside the entrance to Lil’s Pantry, Seabrook’s grocery store. Arthur’s work will be welcoming visitors to Seabrook since the Lil’s Pantry market is located at the beginning of Seabrook’ entrance, just across the street from the oceanfront Northwest Glen neighborhood.

To see some action pictures from the ballet class, check out the slideshow below. If you want to find out more about signing up for ballet class or other similar events at Seabrook, check out our events page, or give us a call at (877) 779-9990.

Once Upon A Time Porch

The famous New England artist Susan Sargent has just featured “Once Upon A Time” – one of the most vibrant looking homes at Seabrook – on her official website. Janet Kronbach, who owns this home together with her husband David, was inspired by Susan’s unique interior-design philosophy. This method implies using lavish colors in the owner’s own creative way for a unique setting each and every time.

With a distinct Swedish feel to it, the home found it’s place on Susan Sargent’s website complimented with a brief description from the owner on the idea for the design.
