Savor Seabrook - Seafood & Wine Festival - May 5, 2012
Spring not only brings a variety of flowers at Seabrook but an assortment of seafood and wine too! This May 5, get ready to Savor Seabrook with a day full of delicious food, good wine, live music, and seaside festivities at Seabrook's second annual Seafood and Wine Festival! Located on Front Street among all of Seabrook's charming retailers, admission to the event is free and there are activities planned all day between noon and 7pm on Saturday. This year's festival has attracted a variety of food and craft vendors from around the area which we are sure you'll enjoy! The vendors will be open between noon and 5pm and will offer food, beverages, spirits, and a variety of other wares! Be sure to check out the delicious crab cocktail being served by Bold Fish and don't miss the coveted Quinault Blueback Sockeye salmon prepared in a traditional salmon bake style by Gary Martin of the Quinault tribe and the Mill 109 team. According to Rob Paylor, General Manager of the Mill 109 Restaurant and Pub, "Quinault Bluebacks are some of the most delicious salmon in the world and the Quinault methods of preparing them will make this weekend's event unforgettable!" The Quinault Blueback Sockeye are native to the Quinault River just a few miles from Seabrook and are coveted by restaurants around the world and are the first wild Sockeye of the season. While you indulge in the delicious seafood, try pairing it with one of the wines from The Westport Winery or a craft brew from the Westport Brewery. For dessert, you might try the Wishkah Distillery's special Honey Vodka! For a leisurely afternoon, sit back in the beer garden while Barney Perrine treats you to some rock and roll or blues on the Mill 109 patio between noon to 4pm. Then, a little later the highly anticipated Humptulips band will treat you to a truly good time on the Seabrook Main Stage from 4pm to 7pm. For those with a younger crowd, you'll want to find the famous Crafty Christine who will have a variety of arts and craft projects available for children of all ages! We are looking forward to seeing you at the beach this weekend and we hope you'll help us enjoy the spring weather and come Savor Seabrook!
